Your story begins with school, like many cliche movies, and how you dearly wished she would actually notice you.
Cheryl Blossom was the most popular girl at school. Cheer captain, student council, this is only naming a few. No one ever said she wanted or enjoyed doing such activities, but no one ever knew that either.
Every day at exactly 3:00, you would see her come out of class in her trio. She would occasionally wave or say hi to other students, but never you. To her, you were invisible. You had Cheryl's schedule down to an exact science. She had cheer right after school on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
But- that was last year. Things have changed. Cheryl's most loved sidekick and twin brother, Jason Blossom, died over the summer, and Cheryl became even cruder if that was even possible. You guessed that was just her way of mourning.
Today Cheryl did not come right out of her 7th period but came speeding down the hallway towards the gym. She caught you off guard and when you whipped around, hearing her heels echoing through the corridor, she ran right into you. And of course, papers from your binder went everywhere. It was Riverdale's eternal winter once again in the hallway, except with all your chemistry notes instead of snow.
"Out of my way, you squeaky grocery cart!" Cheryl yelled at you, dusting herself off and once again heading in the direction of the gym.
You watched her as she went, aimlessly picking up your papers.
"Need some help there, Y/N?" asked Betty Cooper, your long-time friend.
'Yes, please," you practically begged.
After you and Betty picked up what it seemed like millions of notes, you followed Betty to the gym where the River Vixens were having tryouts.
"Do you think Cheryl will actually accept you on the cheer team this year?" you asked, fiddling with your watch.
"I doubt it, but V is sure I'll make it," Betty stated.
"V..?" you questioned, not knowing who this person was.
"Oh, right. Veronica Lodge, the new girl I gave a tour to today," Betty tells you.
"Isn't her dad in-?"
Betty cut you off, "Yes, but don't mention it to her, I'm sure she's heard enough gossip on her first day."
You nodded, pushing open the gym doors.
Betty introduced you to Veronica, she seemed like a sweet girl.
"I think I'll just watch you guys audition on the bleachers if you don't mind," you said, setting your bag down.
"Oh no you don't," Veronica started, "You should audition too! Betty mentioned you did ballet once, aren't you flexible and stuff like that?"
You gave a look to Betty and she put her hands up. "Yes, I did ballet- when I was five," You dragged out the word.
"Oh," Veronica realized, "But you should still audition! It's worth a try!" V exclaimed.
"Ehhh I don't think so, especially not since Cheryl's the captain of the River Vixens."
"Oh I know Cheryl's a bitch but that doesn't-"
Betty cut Veronica off saying, "Oh it's not that. Y/N has a huge crush on Cheryl."
"You like Cheryl?!" Veronica said a little too loudly.
And that's when all eyes fell upon you.

First chapter! I'm quite proud of it if I do say so myself. I'm usually sitting around for a couple of hours after school waiting for a ride so I thought I'd make this story to write instead of listening to the same songs over and over that Youtube recommends me.
