Trying to be as quiet as possible, you unlocked and pushed open your front door. You started to tip-toe up the stairs unseen but were startled by the boom of your mother's voice.

"I don't think so, Y/N. Let's have a chat, shall we?"

You sighed, dropping your belongings in the front hallway and making your way to the kitchen table.

"Explain yourself. Why haven't you come home in the past two days? Your father and I have been very worried," your mother complained.

You scoffed. "I'm sure you were so worried about my well being."

"Cut the sarcasm. I don't need the attitude."

In a stuttered, unrehearsed version of events, you told your mom what had happened throughout the previous 48 hours. You stopped her from interrupting, which was difficult, so you could give her the full story. You told her how you were dating a girl, that girl being Cheryl Blossom, and not caring what her opinion was. You told her you were friends with the son of the leader of the South Side Serpents, not caring what her opinion was. And you told her simply that you didn't care, and that her opinion didn't matter to you at all. You were a goddamn big girl now, and she needed to grow up and accept your decisions.

A single tear trailed down your mother's cheek as you finished your speech.

"I am so, so sorry, Y/N," she whispered.

"You'd better be," you frowned, getting up from the table and running out the door. You picked up your phone which had a screen covered in makeup. You took the edge of your shirt and wiped it clean, quickly unlocking it afterward. You pressed the name of the only person whose voice you wanted to hear and listened to the rings.

"Hey, Y/N. What's up?"

"Meet me at Pop's as soon as possible," you told them, feeling a slight drizzle upon your head. Still wearing the converse your best friend had lent to you earlier in the afternoon, you speed-walked all the way to your second home.

Precipitation, otherwise known as rain or snow, fell to the pavement. In this case, it was a medium-paced rain that created puddles around the parking lot.  The clothing you'd refused to take off became soaked with rain, including the caked on makeup, slowly dripping down your neutral face.

A pair of headlights appeared in the lot and out stepped the redhead, the one you could call your own. Acknowledging your presence, she smiled and wondered why you had decided to wait for her in the rain. No words were exchanged, but a kiss definitely was. A passionate, genuine kiss was brought to your girlfriend's red lips.

Kevin Keller, Betty Cooper, and Veronica Lodge noticed the kiss and beamed out the window at the love being expressed. It was a true love, it was your love, and it was perfect.

Okay, so I should totally listen to Sleeping At Last more when I write because I'm pretty proud of this chapter if I do say so myself. (I recommend SAL bc their music is perfect for studying, relaxing, or in my case, writing) Thanks for reading! Please leave a comment, it would make my day!
