Jughead heard a frantic knock at his door, he slowly opened it, and you stormed inside.

"I'm staying here tonight," you said as you collapsed onto Jughead's makeshift bed.

Jughead closed the door. "So where'd you fly to, little birdy?" he asked.

"Some bar not far from here. And don't call me 'little birdy' ever again."

"A bar on the southside? Why there?" Jughead looked panicked.

"Anywhere was better than here in that moment," you stated quietly, running your hands through your hair.

Jug nods.

"I saw your dad in a bar with a ton of serpents."

Jughead perks up.

"You saw my dad? So you know he's-"

"Yes, I know. Don't worry about it, you hold secrets for me. It's the one thing I can do in return."

"-don't tell Betty."

"Betty? Why Betty of all people?"

Jughead gives you a dorky smile.

"Ah, I got you. Don't even think about it."

Jug takes a seat next to you. "So what are you gonna do about the whole Cheryl incident?"

"Well, my life is pretty much ruined so I might as well deal with it now."

"I'm sure everyone will forget about it by tomorrow," Jughead assures you.

He was wrong.

Ignoring the stares, camera flashes, and whispers, you made it through 1st and 2nd period, and amazingly, no one had come up and talked to you yet.  That is until she took a seat next to you in Chemistry.

Cheryl Blossom.

Briskly, she leaned over and whispered, "Meet me at Pop's after school."

You blushed profusely and Cheryl kissed your cheek. As she got up and moved to another table, your hand found its way to your face, touching the very place Cheryl had brought her lips to.

~

You shoved your unneeded textbooks into your locker, grabbed your purse, and made your way to Pop's.

There she was in a booth, with a strawberry milkshake sitting in front of her and a vanilla shake opposite her. You set your purse down in the booth and sat in the comfy leather seat.

"So," she began, "it seems impossible that I don't know your name since I know everyone around here," she flips her hair behind her shoulder.

You stared at her, mesmerized.

"Uh hello? You still with me?"

You blinked a couple of times. "Sorry, uhm, I'm Y/F/N Y/L/N," you told her.

"Cheryl Blossom," she replied, shaking your hand.

"Thanks for the milkshake," you took a sip, not knowing how to start the conversation.

"Oh, it's no problem, cutie."

Cheryl asked you many questions that evening and the two of you got to know each other a lot better. However, she did bring up the dreadful topic of yesterday.

"So, Y/N, yesterday I heard Veronica outed you in front of the whole cheer squad."

You rubbed the back of your neck and stared out the window hoping the conversation would end as soon as it started.

"...and I also heard that you have a crush on me. It that true?"

A genuine softness was brought to Cheryl's eyes as she waited for a reply. You sighed.

"Yes, it's true, and I completely understand if you hate me or you want me to stay away from you forever, I get it. I'm a disappointment to everyone right now so I think I'll just go," you reveal, standing up to leave.

"Y/N wait," she grabs your hand and you tense up at the sudden sensation of physical contact, "You're not a disappointment, I promise," Cheryl stands up with you, "Would you like to do this again sometime?" she unexpectedly asks.

You're astounded by the fact she still wants to talk to you. "Um," you begin, processing what's happening, "yeah, sure!"

"Great! See you Friday, Y/N," Cheryl kisses your cheek again, this time leaving a red lipstick mark and a whole scarlet face of embarrassment.
