"What?" Damon snarled, turning to look at who had just spoken.
I raised an eyebrow in amusement at the new boy, the one who had just told Damon off.
"Stay out of this New Kid. This is none of your business," Damon growled.
"She said she doesn't want you, now get off."
"This is a personal matter."
"This is a crime."
"The only crime," I said, examining my nails,"Is that haircut. I mean really Damon, what were you thinking?"
Damon stared at me in surprise then at the empty spot between his arms. An empty spot I had been standing in just a second ago.
The new boy smiled in amusement as I dusted imaginary dirt off my shirt, then pointed the middle finger at Damon.
"Suck it, Dark," I said, sticking my tongue out at him.
A grin slowly spread across his face as he realized I had used the new boy as a distraction to slip under his arm.
"You are one sly fox, Ryann," he grinned, crossing his arms.
I smirked, jutting my hip out and putting my hand on it. "You know it Babe. And make sure you don't ever forget it," I said.
Damon laughed and walked down the hallway, right out the front door.
"Ksh. What a moron," I said, narrowing my eyes at the front door skeptically.
"Are you ok?" The new boy asked, putting his hand on my shoulder gently.
I jerked away, grinning at him and hoping he didn't notice how much his touch had freaked me out.
"I'm fine Pretty boy. And I didn't need your help," I said.
He raised an eyebrow, frowning.
"It didn't look that way. He had you pinned against the lockers," he said.
"Meh. Nothing a good kick to the groin couldn't fix."
"You looked defenseless," he protested.
"And you look like you're going to survive five seconds in this wild that we call school if you don't learn how to mind your own business. Although I am grateful for the distraction," I replied, sashaying past him.
His eyes widened as I laughed, walking straight towards the front door.
"Hey wait! Where are you going? School just started!" he called after me.
"Yeah and my ability to care just stopped."
"You'll get in trouble if you bunk!" he tried futilely.
I shrugged, opening the door.
"What's new?"

"Sharing is caring," I said, standing in front of Damon and holding my hand out. He sat on the front steps of the school, smoking.
He looked at me skeptically and blew out smoke, flicking the ash off his cigarette.
"What?" he asked, putting the cigarette to his lips.
I rolled my eyes and plucked the cigarette away, flicking off the stray ash and putting it to my lips.
"Hey!" he protested.
I breathed in deeply, then blew smoke in his face. "Stop whining. I asked nicely," I said, flicking the cigarette.
He smirked at me as I put it to my lips again.
"Take a picture. It lasts longer," I said, taking in another deep breath.
He chuckled. "I never took you for the smoking kind," he said.
"You don't know me. You just wish you did," I laughed, blowing out smoke.
He laughed softly, then took the cigarette from me.
"You know, I just thought of something," he said, taking a deep puff.
"You had a thought? It must of been a long and lonely journey," I said, taking it back from him.
"I don't think you're like other girls," he said simply.
I let out a bark of laughter. "You're a person of rare intelligence Damon. It's rare when you show any. And needless to say you didn't shock me by saying anything even remotely intelligent," I said, blowing smoke into the air.
"You're meaner than mean and you've got an attitude to match it. You're a bad chick. And I'm a bad boy which means we're perfect for each other," he smirked.
"Aw. Keep talking hon. You'll say something intelligent eventually."
He laughed and I dropped the cigarette stump, crushing it under my boot.
"Thanks for the smoke Damon, but I think I'm gonna stay away from you from now on. Don't want to kill all my braincells just yet,"I said, crossing my arms and started walking towards the front door.
"You'll learn new stuff when with me babe!" he called after me.
"It's better to keep your mouth shut and give the 'impression' that you're stupid than to open it and remove all doubt!"
