"I can't do this. I can't take it anymore," I said, closing my eyes.
"You don't have a choice. Now shut up," he said, pushing me down into the bed.
"No! Stop it!" I screamed, struggling against him.
"Stop struggling!"
"No!"
I opened my locker, peering into it blankly.
"What subject do we have first?" I asked, poking my head out and staring at the grey eyed boy who was leaning against the locker, his phone in his hand.
"Dunno," He said, his eyes flickering over his screen.
I narrowed my eyes at him. "What you are you possibly doing at this exact moment that is more important than paying attention to me?"
"Reading my messages," he replied simply.
"Wow. I didn't think you could actually read. What level are you on? Grade 1?" I snarked, peering back into my locker.
"Same as you actually. And we have homerun first," he said,"And guess where you're sitting."
"As far away from you as possible?" I said hopefully.
"Right next to me. Looks like it's your lucky day."
"I think you've mistaken me for someone who's going to fall for you."
"And I think you've mistaken that sinking feeling in your chest for hatred."
I closed my locker, raising an eyebrow at him. "Oh? then what is it?"
He smirked at me, putting his phone away and his arm over my shoulder as he led me to my next class. "Isn't it obvious? It's love."
"Uh-huh. And that slight pain in your stomach is me punching you."
He gave me a quizzical look. "What do yo-? Oof!"
He keeled over as my fist connected with his rock hard stomach and his arm slid off my shoulder.
"Still think it's love?" I asked, winking at him as I walked away.
He smirked at me through gritted teeth. "Damn Ryann. You are heartless."
I blew him a kiss. "You know it. Now are you going to stop moping around and being a little bitch or are you going to hurry up?"
"Coming," he muttered.
"Hey Ryann," Hunter nodded. I stopped, standing next to him.
"Morning," I chirped.
He seemed hesitant to meet my eyes and I felt my eyes widen slightly.
"Hunter we...we need to talk. You said you saw something when I was drunk," I said, looking him pointedly in the eyes.
"It's nothing. Just forget it. I saw you in your underwear and I wanted to apologize," he said, stcratching the back of his neck.
"Are you sure that's all?"
"Yes."
"Well I accept your apology and if I find out you're lying to me I'll-"
"Hey Ryann!" A sugary sweet voice said from behind me.
I whipped around, staring blankly at Ashley.
She wore a faux smile, the kind that set off my bullshit detectors.
"What do you want?" I said.
Her smile turned strained and I thought I saw her left eye twitch.
"I just wanted to apologize for being so rude to you. It's all because I'm an Aquarius you know," she said laughing. I fake laughed with her.
"Hahahah fuck you."
She looked shocked. "What?"
"You're not an Aquarius, you're just a bitch," I shrugged.
"Excuse me?"
"I mean look at me, I'm an Aquarius and even though I am a bitch in a sense I could never even register on your bitch-o-meter."
"I tried being nice to you. You just ruined a potential friendship," she scoffed.
"I'm sorry, is all the plastic in your lips affecting your brain? Did you just hear what you said? Me? And you? Friends? Oh please. You just wanted me to-how do I say this nicely?" I pretended to consider my words, then laughed in her face,"Oh that's right. There is no way to say something like this to someone like you. You just wanted me to hook you up with Damon and Hunter. But I'm not about to let you corrupt them."
Damon smirked, putting his arm over my shoulder, his hand way too close to my chest.
"On second thought," I said, shoving him away,"Take Damon. Please. If anything, he'll corrupt you. And I'm fine with that."
Ashley regarded us with raw fury. "You'll regret turning this opportunity down," she hissed.
"What opportunity? The opportunity to kill what little brain cells you have left and secretly plot your demise?" I scoffed, kicking Damon swiftly in the shin as he got too close. He hopped around on one foot, Hunter laughing. "I can do that just fine from a distance, thank you very much. You can leave now."
Her lip twitched and she stormed off.
"You just caused a whole lot of problems with the wrong girl," Damon muttered, still rubbing his shin.
"If you get any closer, you'll cause problems with the wrong girl," I replied, narrowing my eyes.
He put his hands up in mock surrender. "Just warning you."
"I wish you'd warned me to stay away from you. I almost envy the people who haven't met you."
Hunter burst out laughing again and Damon smirked as I walked away.
"Oi! You need a light?" He called after me.
I dug in my pocket, bringing up his box of cigarettes and lighter. "No thanks. I already got some from a chump."
I laughed as he shook his head, walking out the front door.
Today was gonna be stressful, the least I could do was take a smoke right?
Wrong. So, so wrong.
