"So how was your first day Kev?" I ask him as I set up the table for supper. Kevin has the largest grin on his face at the mention of school. He loves school with all of his heart. He's a great academic student and is into athletics. He enjoys everything about school from learning to the teachers and spending time with his friends and time away from this place.

I'm just glad that Evan and I were able to give him enough affection and protection-form our parents- for him to know what happiness really is. It's hard to say the same for Evan though. He was a rebel at school just to get back at the king monster. And he is very angry seeing as though he has gone through this the longest. Although because he can defend himself king monster never does anything to him anymore. So it's very hard for him to have to fight with dad to stop hurting me all the time and sometimes Kevin.

"It was great! I had so much fun today! I like my register teacher because she's very nice and she is also very pretty." He answers and I shove him playfully. Oh my goodness. "Man you're growing up so fast!" I laugh slightly and he shrugs. "I guess. I wanna be able to protect my sister so I have to be mature." He says. My smile falters a little. A child so young shouldn't be thinking like this...

"Kev, I really appreciate that buddy. So so much, but I also want you to enjoy your childhood days, despite our problems. They're going to end soon. I don't want you to rush growing up." I say and he sighs.

"I know sis, but I just want to be there for you the way you and Evan are there for me. I want to be like Evan. A good brother." He says. I pull him into my arms and hug him tight happy that I don't feel much pain anymore. "You are a great brother to both Evan and I. You're our rockstar and we love you a lot!" I say and kiss his forehead. He wraps his arms around me but is reluctant to squeeze me tight like usual. See, he thinks about me and that shows how much of a good brother he is.

"I love you guys too." He says. I force a smile at him and he returns it with an unforced smile. "Why don't you go wash up while I go fetch king monster and his queen." I say and he nods hesitantly but does so anyway knowing that I am as stubborn as a donkey. I walk into the kitchen to find Evan finishing up on the food. "Are you done?" I ask and he nods.

"Alright, I'll call them." I say.

"Please, please, please be careful Candy. And scream if you need my help." He says and I nod starting on my journey to their bedroom. When I get to the door I knock on it three times and wait for an answer but I don't get one. I knock again but there's still no answer.

I wonder what's happening in there? I put my ear to the door and try to listen but I hear nothing. I knock once more and when there's nothing I open the door and my eyes land on the most disturbing thing I've ever witnessed in my entire life.

My eyes, along with theirs bulge at the situation at hand. The situation being a daughter catching her dad's face buried deep in-between her mom's legs. Oh my gosh that's so grose! "I'm so sorry. Supper's ready." I quickly say without breathing and I shut the door closed. King monster looks really angry and that scares me. At least Evan is here. I feel slightly better but I know that he is going to throw a huge fit. May the Lord be with me right now. I rush down the stairs and go to the dining room where I find my brothers seated. They laugh at something Kevin said and smile at me when they see me. I smile and then sit down at my usual spot next to Kevin.

I look down at my fingers and struggle to stop fidggiting. I hope he isn't too angry. "Kathy, what's wrong?" Evan asks.
"Huh?" I answer looking up.
"Why do you look so nervous? What happened upstairs." He continues. I sigh taking a deep breath.
