Kathy's P.O.V
Heart stays patient becuase I know it's worth it.
That's why I take my time. Take as long as I've got. I won't pretend to be somebody I'm not, no. Good things come to those who wait.I sing to myself as I walk down the hallways of the place I haven't been in for a whole entire month. Although if I'm going to be honest I didn't miss it at all. I mean yeah it does serve as a getaway from my real life but it still sucks. And what's even worse is that I now have to work extra hard to catch up on all of the work I have missed. At least I'm not too far off with maths, thank to Mrs F.
I don't know what lie that man told the school about my absence but it was good enough for it to sound 'normal'. No one suspects anything out of the ordinary and that's not a shocker.
And I'm not perfect.
Nobody is.
Could fill a notion,
Of blood, sweat and tears.
Yeah. Good things come to those who wait!
Since the day that Trisha sent me Nathan Sykes' album 'Unfinished Business' I haven't been able to stop listening to it. Although all the love songs kinda get on my nerves but eh.
His awesome voice is enough to keep me listening so...Speaking of Trisha that little rascal! She came to my house yesterday and sent Jace a message on my behalf. At first I was very angry but then I didn't really care anymore. I decided to just stop fighting the fact that he and I are kinda friends.
Although it doesn't mean I'm gonna stop being mean to him. No. I'm not going to change but I will try to be a little nicer to him. I see Trisha and Roger are standing together and talking by my locker. Argh!
Apparently he spent all of his time with Trisha while I was away. Before he didn't care and he would always be with his friends and sometimes even ignore Trish. So I guess he really is trying. Of course I'm not going to like him all of a sudden but I will try to be nicer to him. But honestly one wrong move and I'll make sure that his last year of high school will be as miserable as ever!
"Hey Trissy!" I greet enthusiastically when I finally reach them. "Hiii! I wasn't sure that you were coming!" She exclaims hugging me tightly. I laugh and hug her back just as tight. It's weird to not be in so much pain the whole time. But I'm definitely not complaining.
"I wasn't either but my dad surprised me when he said that I'm coming to school!" I say. She grins and hugs me tightly again. I didn't mind saying that in front of Roger becuase to me it sounds normal so. *shrugs*
"I'm glad you're here." She says pulling from our hug. I smile.
"Yeah me too. Hey Roger." I say turning to him with a smile. It's a little forced but not too much. I can see that both Trisha and Roger are surprised by my behaviour. I don't blame them though. I still haven't apologised to him and I'm not going to. This is enough already.
"Hey Kathy. How have you been." He replies with a smile but you can still tell that he is still shocked.
"Good. You?" I answer. He raises his eyebrows. Wow, is it really that shocking when I'm nice to people?
"Great. Trish has been keeping me in check here." He says slinging his arm over Trish's shoulders. She smiles and cuddles into him.
Okay I must say, it's really great to see my best friend this happy again. So I guess I can slowly start to like Roger. But when I say slowly I really mean slowly!
"Babe, I'll let you guys catch up. See you later." He says and she nods.
"I love you." She says and kisses him. He kisses her back and then when they break apart tells her that he loves her too. Then he smiles at me and leaves after saying bye.
