□CHAPTER:09

This cannot be happening! Not now. This cannot be happening right now!
Lord you cannot let this happen right now I beg of you.

"You better fucking tell the truth right fucking now Katherine!" He screams. I flinch at the scary sound of his voice looking down at my feet. I don't dare look at him. I don't want to see how scary he looks right now. "I d-don't know wh-what you-you're talking about. I swear!" I stutter fighting back tears. I don't know what I'm going to do.

Evan is working, helping Mrs Leron's son with his up coming test and that's all the way across town and Kevin... well he is at athletics practice and he is a child. I cannot expect him to get hurt becuase of me. I don't know what I'm going to do. "You are the only one that handles the petty cash! Now where the fuck is my money!" He shouts. I flinch again. My heart is beating really, really fast and I'm about to start hyperventilating.

"I don't know!" I say more firmer this time. He slaps me hard and I stumble back a little. My hand goes up to rub my cheek. That's the second slap today. "Look at me when I fucking speak to you! And don't you dare talk back at me! You stole the money! Tell the truth!" He shouts.
"I did not take your stupid money dad!" I shout. I don't even know why I still call him that. This is when he punches me on my left cheek. I fall on my back and groan. This is precisely the point when I start crying and he starts beating the crap out of me.

It's happening. "You fucking thief!" He shouts kicking my ribs. I feel a huge amount of pain shoot through me as he kicks me over and over again. I curl up into a ball but that doesn't stop him. He kneels down and starts punching me all over. I start screaming in pain. "Stop! Please!" I scream but that only makes him continue. He pulls me up by my hair. I scream loudly in pain hoping that someone will hear me and come and help.

"You're making a fucking noise!" He shouts banging my head against the coffee table. I groan and continue crying and begging him to stop but of course he continues. "Please dad. Please stop." I cry. He starts strangling me digging his finger nails into my skin and starts shaking me. "Where the fuck is my money!" He shouts.
"I don't know I swear! I didn't take it!" I cry. He punches my nose and blood starts oozing out of it. "You better tell the fucking truth! This is your last chance!" He shouts!
"Where the fuck is my money!" He screams. What am I supposed to do? Lie and say I took it. He'll probably kill me. But then he might kill me now too. I'd rather he kill me for telling the truth rather than telling him what he wants to hear. "I have no idea where your money is! I never took it!" I answer. He throws me across the room. My back hits the corner of the wall and I groan in pain. I see him approaching me and try to get away. Unfortunately he catches me and then starts kicking me all over. When I try curling myself up into a ball he stops me and then starts punching me all over. I try fighting him but fail. He tries putting his hands around my neck to strangle me again but I push myself up and he ends up just scratching me from my neck down. I scream. "Help! Someone please help!" I scream at the top of my lungs. He quickly stands and then kicks me hard on my head. After that everything is a blur. He then grabs my head and bangs it on the floor once, twice and the third time everything goes black.

I feel numb. I feel light.

I can't hear anything nor can I see anything. There's nothing around me. I can't even see myself. I feel like I'm no longer present in my body. Maybe I'm dead. I don't know where I am. I'm not even sure who I am.

Nope I still know who I am. I wish I was someone else but we don't all get what we wish for. And also the saying 'be careful what you wish for' keeps ringing in my ears.

I feel a sudden pain shoot through my entire body and then I feel numb again. What was that. The pain comes again and then goes but it lasts longer than the last time. What is happening?
