"He's mad if he thinks I'm going to chill with Dumi. I'm telling you!" Trisha exclaims in irritation. I just can't help but laugh at her, although I understand where she's coming from. I also wouldn't want to chill with Dumi. He is super gross!

"I don't know why you're laughing!" She says glaring at me. This doesn't help my case cause I start to laugh even harder than before. Right now we are sitting by the tables outside enjoying our lunch.

Trisha is busy complaining about how Roger and her are fighting becuase he wants her to come and chill with him and his friends but she doesn't want to becuase she doesn't want to chill with Dumi. And Jace is just sitting next to me poking at his food and listening to what Trish and I are saying. Although he also seems to be in deep thought.

"Sorry friend but your situation is hilarious. Anyway, don't let Roger force you into chilling with people you don't want to chill with. He is your boyfriend, he is supposed to be understanding. And just because you guys are dating you're not obligated to be friends with his friends." I say and she nods.

"Yes! That's exactly why I am here sitting with you two weirdos instead of those people. How can they stand to be with Dumi for so long?" She says making a jag face and I start laughing again. The disgusted look on her face is killing me.

"So tell me, what is so wrong with this Dumi guy Trish? He can't be so bad that he'd cause you and your boyfriend to fight." Jace asks and I start laughing and this time Trisha joins me. However Jace has a straight face and he does not look amused at all. I take this as my que to start talking.

"Okay so Dumi has a terrible case of halitosis and he has a knack for hovering over Trisha and like breathing in her face. Plus he is annoying as fuck and he's a dickface so." I say and finish my explanation with a shrug.

"That's disgusting." He says and then lays his head on his arms.

Both Trisha and I look at Jace and then at each other, then back at Jace.

'What's wrong with him?'

Trisha mouths to me and I shrug.

'Dunno'

I mouth back.

'I think you should talk yo him.'

My eyes widen.

'Why me?'

'Becuase you're his friend.'

'And you're not?'

'I kinda am, but not like you are and you know that.'

I sigh knowing that she's right. Plus he always talks to me when I'm down so the least I could do is do the same.

"Um, I'm gonna go get some more cold drink. Anyone want anything?" Trisha says and both Jace and I refuse with a 'thank you' at the end and she leaves mouthing me a cheerful 'good luck'.

I'm not good at this type of stuff so I'm going to need all the luck I can get.

"So what's up? How are you?" I start off. He looks up at me with some type of look. I never ask him how he is so I guess he is surprised.

"I'm fine." He says with uncertainty.

"You don't sound too sure." I sound out and he sighs.

"Well I am." He pushes on. Okay Kathy, you got this gurl! You can do this.

"You know, you haven't annoyed me once this break." I try again and he shrugs seeming uninterested.

"So?" He asks with a bored tone in his usually up spirited voice.
