Kathy's P.O.V
"Jace you can't just roam around the school doing nothing. That's weird." I say as Jace and I walk continuing with the 'tour'.
We just came from looking at the school theatre for the drama students. We found a few of them practicing and to say that Jace was rude to them would be an understatement. I don't know what his problem is today but in my opinion he is acting weird. He was literally going on and on about how stupid the subject is and how they sucked. And to say that the poor kids were not hurt and angry would be a lie. At first he was cool and was commenting on how cool the theatre looks and then he just changed in a matter of seconds. He really isn't in a good mood. Now we're on our way to the music classes."I can if I want to, I don't care how weird it is." He says.
"So when do you think you're going to choose your subjects?" I ask. I'm still confused as to how on earth the school could leave him with no subjects. That doesn't sound normal or right to me. I think that the school wouldn't leave a student be without chooing any subjects. It's just not done. But when it comes to this guy, I guess anything is possible. "I don't know, when I decide on what I want." He says."Well then what was your dad teaching you?" I ask. He breaths in deeply and then exhale slowly. I look up and his face looks hard. His whole demonear changes and becomes tense. The blackness of his clothes and shoes makes him look a bit scary. He looks like he hasn't slept in days. "A lot." He answers.
"Jace are you okay?" I ask stopping in my tracks and he does the same. "I'm fine." He answers dryly. "Are you sure? You look really tired." I push. He doesn't seem fine to me. "I'm fine Katherine!" He says. I sigh.
"Okay. Next we're going to the studio. This is where we record whatever is needed for an assignment. Like for instance if you need to compose something or make a cover or even both, you do it in here. But you have to get a permission slip everytime you wanna use it." I explain as we get into the studio. Jace looks around.
"This is pretty cool. It has proper walls and I like the red colour. And the set and deck is cool too." I say again. I notice a ghost of a smile appear on his face at my words. My breath hitches in my throat. He looks so layed back when he smiles. He looks even better than when he smirks and trust me, he looks very good when he smirks.
"Yeah. The set is cool." He says. I nod and then look down. "You being quiet is more annoying than you talking Jace. So please talk! If you wanna say mean or cocky things please go ahead. I can't take this anymore!" I say feeling fed up. He looks a little taken back by my small outburst and smirks.
"You do enjoy my company. I knew it!" He says but he still seems down. And there are black rings forming under his eyes. This guy needs to sleep. "No. I just learned to tolerate your being cocky, loud and irritating. I don't wanna tolerate another side of you because that would mean that we're friends and I don't want that." I say avoiding actual eye contact.Would it kill you to be honest with yourself?
"Always so cold. There's nothing to be afraid of here Kathy." He says. Something happens inside of me and I suddenly feel like I can't breath. "You look so tired Jace. You should go to the nurses office and get some rest." I say changing the topic quickly. He gives me the 'what the fuck' look. Oh yeah I forgot that boys don't fucks with the nurses office. Well today you do Jace Clark.
"No I'm fine. I'm not hurt or anything. Let's continue with the tour." He says. You're not hurt...yet. "We can. Lemme just whisper something in your ear. I feel like you should know this." I say. He looks at me weirdly.
"No. Come on, let's go." He says. If it was any other day he would jump and listen but today is a different day. "Come on Jace please. Plus I won't go anywhere unless you listen to what I have to say." I say standing strong. For the first time today our eyes meet. Today his eyes look more gray than blue. There's still a touch of blue but the gray rules. "What are you planning?" He asks.
