Chap 16

Somehow, everything went bad.

Everything had to go bad for me.

Lily came back to the dorm with Alice and Marlene after the Christmas Ball.

‘James Potter is a jerk and a bullying toerag.’ Lily grumbled.

‘Why?’ I asked.

‘He hates Sev, he bullies Sev, and he used to bully you. Then, apparently, he’s in love with me.’

‘Mayne he’s not as bad as he seems,’ Marlene butted in. ‘I mean, people can change, right? Give him a threat or something that will make him change.’

‘Or just ignore him,’ I suggested.

‘Not helping,’ grumbled Lily.

I understood everything.

People always walked out of my life.

Always.

And I just couldn't seem to help it.

‘It’ll get better.’ I assured Lily.

It might.

‘I’m going to bed.’ announced Marlene.

‘Same here,’ said Alice.

Lily was already sleeping.

Broken hearts... They’re the worst, aren’t they?

Then I realized that I wasn't sleepy. ‘I’m not slept, so I’m heading out,’ I said.

‘Okay!’

But I was already out the door.

At first I had planned to go to the Common Room and stay there for some time, but there were some passed out bodies there.

So... I gave up.

I started on the path to the Astronomy Tower, but paused when I heard noises.

‘Hello?’ I turned around in a circle, yet seeing nobody. ‘Anybody here?’

Straight up a scene from Conjuring where she starts having hallucinations and starts hearing voices in the back of her mind.

‘A okay.’ I started walking towards the Astronomy Tower again.

This time, I did not hear any voices, which was good.

I smiled a real smile when I threw open the door of the Astronomy and took a big look at the stars which covered the sky.

‘I’m home,’ I whispered.

I headed onto the balcony part, and leaned over the railing.

Something's are worth fighting for, I had decided.

Stars were worth fighting for.
