Ugh...where am I? I thought as I opened my eyes. There was a throbbing pain in my back and my lips were numb and startled to speak. My entire body shrieked with protest.
Everything came back to me. Standing near the "X". Placing the flowers at the stand of the grassy knoll. The two "brothers" had attacked us. Knocked us out.
I opened my mouth to scream but a gag was around my mouth. I choked on air.
Calm down. I ordered myself but I was screaming inside, the fear bubbling in my chest. I moaned, my voice low and soft and full of unbearable agnoy.
I heard a laugh, soft and evil. I turned my head to see a young man with blue eyes and slick dark hair staring at me from the shadows. I tried to scream again but the gag was around my mouth.
"This is funny," he sneered. "Watching you struggle like this, Tatiana."
I glared hard at him. My eyes blazed with fury. He only grinned, showing pearly white teeth.
I thought of cuss words in my head. The really dirty ones and the ones that would make someone want to cry. I sweated those words inside my head as the man stood up and watched him as he stood up.
He paced around me like a tiger and then placed his cold hands on my shoulders. I shivered my muscles tensing at the contract. He leaned forward to whisper in my ear. I tried to move away but failed miserbly.
"What do you think of this place?" His eyes stared greedily at my neck; like a man's when he wanted to kiss someone. "Isn't it great?"
I narrowed my eyes as if to remind him I couldn't speak. He laughed lightly.
"Oh, right, the gag." He tore it easily off and I breathed in a mouthful of clean air. My gasps came out loud and energetic.
He smiled mockingly. "Better now?"
I spat at him, spit flying from my mouth. The spit landed on his cheek. His eyes glittered and I thought with fear that he was going to attack me but he stayed put, a calm look on his face.
"You're so adorable," he laughed. "I wonder what your face would look like with blood splattered all over your cheeks."
Fear shrieked through my body. I glared at him. I would show him I wasn't afraid.
"Go to hell," I snarled, my eyes glittering with rage. "When my mother finds, you'll have a knife buried into your skull."
He laughed again and his eyes glowed with menace. "She's as good as dead, Tataina. After all we can't have her finding out the truth of what happened to her father can we?"
I stared at him. My eyes narrowed and I snapped, "John F. Kennedy died 50 years ago, idiot. Oswald shot him."
He pinched his lips together. I frowned. He chuckled soflty and replied, "That is what you were meant to believe, Tatiana. Even people from your own clan can device you. It's really a shame." He stood up and made his way to the door. I thought about escaping but I figured that would only cause trouble. Mother would find me and make these physcopaths suffer for the rest of their lives.
But what exactly did he mean by the phrase that the Kenendy clan had lied to me.
I stared at the door after the man had left. Something bad was about to happen but whatever it was it wasn't going to be pretty.
Location: Parkland Hospital
Character: Maria Walker
Day: November 20, 2013
Time: 11:12 am
Maria glanced upward at the clock that was glued into the wall. Her stomach was churning.
Just thirty minutes ago, a patient had reported that Tatiana Sclossberg and her sister and brother had even captured by a pair of gangsters.
Maria had felt tingles. She was relieved that their thought to be dead-president didn't know who they were. He hadn't even recognized Caroline at first glance till Maria had told him that it was his daughter.
After that President Kennedy had ordered the nurses and doctors to get some newspapers of what had happened while he was gone.
Maria had handed him several papers over the Cold War debate and some photos of Bobby Kennedy's assassination. The one that had horrified John Kennedy the most was the one of Ethel screaming soundlessly as her husband lay dying.
"Is she still alive?" he had asked Maria soflty as he stared down at the photograph of Ethel.
"Yes," she had replied. "She's a broken woman now. She's an old shell of what she was before."
"Who else died?"
She tapped her nails on the desk. "Bobby. Ted. John-John. Jackie." Her eyes watered up. "David Kenendy. And a few others. Your mother died in the 1990's. Joe Sr died a year after Bobby was killed. I don't remember how because I was born in 1997."
"And what year did he die?" He glanced across the room as if looking for an answer.
She smiled, her face grim and ashen. "1969."
John F. Kennedy shook his head. "It's like I'm in a different universe. The people that were closest to me have died. Killed off by pyshopaths and accidents and diseases."
"At least they don't hate you anymore," Maria pointed out. "You should have seen the outpouring grief after your 'death.'"
John had glanced at her after that. His eyes had traveled down her mouth to her neck. She shifted uncomfortably. She knew what he was. A womanizer. She had seen what he had done to Marilyn Monroe and Mimi Alfrod had had an affair. Mimi had described him as "playful" and "boyish"
Maria had left him after that. Her eyes were surpirsngly dry and her mouth was choking off tears. She had closed the door behind her, slamming her head against the wall.
Crying. Tears had streamed from her cheeks and she had sobbed, her eyes getting wetter by the second until she had fallen to the ground, leaning agaisnt the floor.
She thought she heard quiet sobbing coming from John F. Kennedy's room. She peeked in through the peephole and watched him. He was burying his face into the pillow, crying softly and whispering Jackie's name.
She backed away from the door, and made her way down the hallway. Her eyes were now dry. She wasn't crying.
It was only a matter of time before Caroline Kennedy would come to Dallas for the 50th anniversary of the JFK assassination and realize what had truly happened to her thought to be dead father.
______________
I thought Maria's Pov was weird a bit when she told Jack what had happened while he was gone 😬
_____________
I won't make them a couple though because even though Jackie died years ago in this story, Jack still loves her and misses her ❤️
