Chapter 7

Location: the White House

Character: Caroline Kennedy

Day: November 20, 2013

Time: 1:29 pm

I followed Edwin to our room and he opened the door letting me in first.

The room was ice cold. My eyes ached for a moment, then I blinked. The room's walls looked steel and cold. Edwin led me to the bed, his eyes shining like stars.

"What is it?" I asked, nuzzling his neck gently by kissing him.

He returned the kiss but looked worried. His blue eyes turned to inspect the room and he replied, "Caroline...I don't know how to say this."

"What?" I snapped, more louder then I had intended to. He looked at me, hurt flashing in his eyes but then he blinked and it was gone.

"What is it?" I repeated more softly, looking up at him.

He sighed and ran his hands through his snowy white hair. I watched him, my eyes following his palms and hands.

"Caroline," he started. "Don't you think Dallas has been acting uneasy for the past month?"

I frowned but responded to his caresses. "That isn't our business, Edwin. We can't go in there and say 'Excuse me, but are you hiding something from us?' They'd think we're crazy or something like that."

"Listen to me," Edwin growled softly. His voice was deep. "That's not the case. They're acting really nervous when the word Kennedy is mentioned."

I laughed. My laugh was shaky and trying to sound calm but it wavered a bit. "That's it? They must be nervous because it's the 50th. It's a day to grieve not to be happy. They must be nervous because of that."

Edwin shook his head. "We have to go," he insisted. "To Dallas and see exactly what they're hiding from us."

I stared at him. "You're crazy! You saw what happend to John, Rose, and Tatiana. In fact when we get to them, they won't be allowed out of the house anymore! We can't go!"

Edwin smiled. His smile showed that he was planning something. "But we can disguise ourselves." He chuckled again. "They won't notice, Caroline. I promise."

"And if they do," I drawled, "what do you think Fury will do?"

"She won't notice," Edwin pestered me. "She'll be bothered by something else."

"Pardon?"

"Caroline," he lowered his voice. "Something big is coming."

A cold shiver ran up my neck. I swallowed hard and stared at him. "What do you mean?"

His eyes turned glassy. "Something is happening. Dallas used to be loud about their emotions; they showed their hatred for President Kennedy pretty well. And this Fury..." He tapped his fingers over the desk. "...she wants something. She's hiding something from us. She doesn't want us to find out. It's like that secret could destroy her in the end."

"You mean..." I looked at him. "She's hiding something from us. She's doing whatever she can to stop this secret from spilling out and in the meantime, Dallas is afraid to say what's happening because they think that it will be their destruction like Fury's."

"Excalty." Edwin nodded. "That's why we have to go to Dallas."

"All right," I said recently. "If it's up to you, we'll go."

Edwin's grin got wider. "We can't spare a minute. Let's go, shall we?"

I flushed, my cheeks turning red. "Okay, then, Mr. Schlossberg."

He laughed softly. He lifted his hand so his fingers intertwined with me. Grinning like an idiot, I followed him to the plane.

Location: Parkland Hospital

Charcter: John F. Kennedy

Day: November 20, 2013

Time: 12:31 pm

When John Kennedy woke up, he felt that his body had been drained out of energy. The nightmares had stopped. But now he was a broken man instead of a loving man.

He didn't believe it. 50 years. 50 years of lies. 50 years of pain. 50 years of agnoy. And 50 years of the Kennedy clan dying.

50 years of America mourning their fallen 35th president, John thought grimly. And they think I'm dead. What cruel joke is this?

He would laughed if it wasn't him. It was funny if he saw himself from another point of view. He would have laughed. He wanted to laugh but he didn't have anyone to laugh with.

Caroline's face filled his eyes. He grimaced and pushed the picture away.

Isn't it funny, Jack? taunted a familar voice inside his head, how your greatest fears always find you?

No, Jack responded. I still have Caroline and my soul.

The voice laughed. But you don't have Jackie. Or John-John. They have left you. They're dead.

Jack spun around his eyes shining and his eyes widened as he spotted a woman with cold blue-green eyes. She was smiling. Her smile was pure evil.

"Ah," she smiled, her teeth baring into hideous grin. "President John F. Kennedy." She slid a gun out of her waist. "Prepare to die. Oh and say hi to Jackie for me."

There was a clicking sound followed by a gunshot.
