"Last 3 days...thank god" I groaned getting my bag out my locker

"You just can't wait to leave me" Derek said leaning on the locker next to me

"I thought you were coming with me" I scrunched my face up looking at him

"I was...b...but I got an amazing offer for a football scholarship...in San Clarita" he said biting his lip

"That's like...a 4 or 5 hour drive...Der" I said looking at him

I...I was gonna tell you but I didn't want to see...that face..." He sighed pulling me close as I started tearing up

I'm gonna be all alone...

"What school?..c...can't you get a different scholarship or something...I..?"

"No I already talked about it with my mom...everything is already done and settles...I'm sorry baby" he sighed

I pouted looking up at him.

"I love you" I blurted out looking up at him

He looked down at me wide eye but smiled.

"I...I love you too"

Oh thank god...

He kissed my forehead smiling.

"I'll visit whenever I can princess"

" I'm gonna miss you..."

"I'm gonna definitely miss your adorable ass too" he smiled making me blush smiling.

"Heyy" somebody quietly said next to us

I turned my head seeing Nate.

"Oh hey" I smiled slightly

" Did you tell her?" Nate asked Derek

"Yea" he nodded

"Are we cool?" He asked pointing between me and him

I just nodded.

"Well then...could this awkward silence pass by and we go get some food?" He asked looking at both of us

"Sure" I said looking at Derek who nodded

I closed my locker and intertwined Derek and i's hands following Nate.

They were both arguing about some game while I ate my fries with my legs sprawled out across Derek's lap.

"No bro!...you lost by 28 points...you're ass!"Derek exclaimed laughing

" it wasn't even 28 more like 2...don't try to lie..."

"It was not 2...that's bullshit...just admit...I'm better than you..."

" I'm not admitting lies...let's play tonight and see who's a better player..."

"I...I can't tonight..." Derek said glancing at me quickly.

"Why not?" I asked looking at him

"I got stuff to do" he said avoiding eye contact.

"Derek...what's going on?"

"Nothing baby..." He shook his head grabbing his phone

I scrunched my face up confused...

He's being weird and I don't like it...

Is he cheating on me?...no Derek wouldn't...h...he's a good guy.

I bit my quivering lip and tapped his arm.

"I need to go to the bathroom" I lied

I just didn't want them to see me cry right now...

"are you okay?" He asked caressing my cheek.

"I'm fine I just...I need to go to the bathroom" I said a little harshly

"Ok I'm getting up" he said standing up

I brushed past him to the bathroom of this diner and made sure nobody was in there before I started crying.

I looked in the mirror at my smudged mascara and tear stained cheeks and sighed

I wiped my face with tissue and water fixing my mascara.

I'm glad I didn't do my full face makeup today.

It's like I can't be happy...is this gonna happen every time?...all my next boyfriends are gonna cheat on me too...

After I made sure I looked like I didn't cry in this bathroom I got mascara and walked out back over to the table.

Derek looked up at me worried and confused as he stood up to let me back on the booth.

Nate looked at me too and shook his head sighing.

" Sk Derek...why can't you hang out tonight...maybe you shouldn't lie to your girlfriend...it might help her...stop her from having to cry over you for no reason..."

Derek looked at him wide eyed and then Looked at me.

I looked down biting my lip.

I so wish I could go home right now.

"I...Nate...it's a surprise for a fucking reason..." He whispered but I heard him

"Yea but she thinks It's something else and she probably just went to the bathroom to cry over it...tell her...I know from experience"

Derek looked at me and sighed pulling me out the booth and outside.

"I'm not cheating...I'm not doing anything to hurt you...I...I just have something planned for us...on Saturday that I have to go set up...it was supposed to be a surprise but...you see how that worked...I would hate myself if I did that to you Babygirl" he said moving hair behind my ear.

"O...oh"

"We're you crying ?" He asked sighing

"Yea...I thou-"

"I know...it's fine...just...know I won't...I would never" he said cupping my face in his hands kissing me

I nodded smiling.

"I love you" he said smiling

"I love you too" I smiled back holding his arm

"Cmon...cutie" he said intertwining our hands and walking back into the diner where Nate was on his phone.

We sat back down and they started talking again about that stupid game.

I never noticed but Derek has a cute little beauty mark on his chin...
