Parker winced as the sound of machinegun fire reverberated throughout the Waldorf's lower floor, however, there was no searing hot impact of lead projectiles piercing his body. There were no explosions of plaster and concrete, only a sound. He exhaled as he felt the reassuring squirming of a nervous Broadway against his pain-wracked abdomen apparently searching for a way out of the stifling haversack. Parker opened a singular eye and looked toward the remains of the hotel's entrance. The deadly megabug was nowhere to be seen.
"It's the U.N!" Katie said in excitement, peeking out of an opening at the front of the building that used to be a door. "The idiots must have destroyed Berzerker and now they're taking shots at Battlezone. Damn fools."
"Forget them and help me. We need to go," Parker said and grimaced from the pain radiating throughout his body, but chose to ignore it as he made his way over to Addy.
Katie did as requested and met up with Parker. She leaned over and found herself struggling to lift the injured 'brid' from where she lay on the dirty floor.
"Let me help you," Parker said.
"You're hurt," Katie replied with a look of concern on her face. "You've lost a lot of blood."
"I'll make more." Parker painfully leaned over and grabbed the unmoving Addy by her other arm. He grunted as he lifted her up. Parker could see she had several deep cuts and gashes over her body, but was still very much alive...she was simply unconscious. "Okay, let's get out of here and let those U.N. guys deal with Battlezone."
Katie agreed wholeheartedly and with the unconscious Addy between them, the trio made their way toward the tunnels, and hopefully, freedom.

Reggie felt the rushing air of the R.R.O.A.C.H.'s spinning teeth as it neared. He turned his head away from the machine and pressed the side of his face into the grass. The C.I.A. agent cried out in pain as the sharp metallic edge of the rotating blade dug into his jaw. Then, the blade stopped its advance.
The glowing red eyes strangely began to flicker and then fade out. Reggie noticed the rest of the mechanical beast seemed to freeze in place as its motors seized with the sharp disks on its head spinning down. As the R.R.O.A.C.H.'s internal systems followed suit and grew silent following the machine's inexplicable shutdown, the CIA agent imagined he heard the sound of quickly approaching footsteps.
"Oh shit, we're too late!" exclaimed a voice from the darkness. "Hey, throw me your flashlight!"
"I can only imagine what he might look like," yelled another, more distant voice. "You sure you want to do that?"
"Just toss me the damn light, Tisdale!"
Reggie squinted as an intermittent piercing white beam swept over his face. Out of habit, he attempted to lift his hands to shield his eyes, but the pain in his left arm forced the appendage back down. His right hand was blocked by the metallic head of the robotic bug standing quietly over him like an armored statue.
"Agent? Are you still among the living, sir?"
As Reggie's eyes adjusted to the light, he recognized a barely visible face behind the flashlight's glow. It belonged to the Marine that held the door for him and Rudy when they entered the mansion. "H-h-hello there, St-staff Sargeant."
"Well, look at this, I didn't think you Army boys were that tough," quipped the Presidential guard with a serious look on his face. He knelt down and swept the flashlight along the length of the R.R.O.A.C.H.'s shiny body. "Seriously though, sir, are you alright? I can't see anything with this damn thing on top of you."
