Their Intentions

Light

Light came to dinner with your parents again, and despite their initial reaction, they seemed to warm to him a bit more.

"What are your intentions for my daughter?" Your dad asked.

"To love her and make her feel like a goddess. I want to show her a new world."

"Alright Aladdin." You laughed.

L

You and L went to visit your parents again, this time you decided to just have tea and cake with them.

"You sure like your cake." Your dad observed. "I hope you like my daughter as much. What are your intentions for her?"

L's eyes widened and he swallowed the cake already in his mouth as quickly as possible so he could answer.

"I love her more than cake. I intend to keep her by my side forever, or as long as she's happy with me."

Your dad nodded. "Good enough."

"I'll always be happy with you, L." You said and he smiled adorably.

Mello

Your parents apologised and asked to meet Mello again, promising to be nicer this time. You hadn't told Mello what they'd said in case it hurt him. You agreed to go out for dinner this time. When they asked him what his intentions were, he turned to you and took your hand.

"I want to be her number one forever, I know she'll always be my number one. If there's anything she wants, I'll help her get it or achieve it."

You touched his cheek. "Same." You smiled at each other and then hugged.

Your parents looked pleased, and you knew they'd accepted him.

Matt

"What are your intentions towards my daughter, young man?"

Your dad asked the question as soon as he met Matt for the second time. Matt looked terrified for a moment until you smiled at him and he relaxed.

"Sir, I love Y/N more than my own life. I don't have an exact plan yet but I know I'd die to protect her."

"Matt, don't die, I'd miss you."

"I'll try not to."

Near

Near twirled his hair and thought for a minute before answering.

"I intend to make her wife and have lots of children to continue my legacy."

You burst out laughing. "Romantic as always, Near."

"I'm not very good at this."

"You just want lots of children so you can play with their toys." You joked.

"That's a good idea actually."

Misa

Misa answered the question straight away.

"I want to make sure she never feels lonely. I cherish her and I'll make sure she always knows it."

You pulled her into your arms, wiping a tear away and promising her that she'd never be alone again either.
