While You're Pregnant

Light

Light is kind of a prick because he's more interested in writing names in his Death Note than helping you. You spend more time in tears because he's ignoring you, and you get quite a few pains that you keep to yourself because you think he won't care.

Until the day he finds you crying and you end yelling everything at him. He takes you in his arms and apologises, explaining that he was just working extra hard to make it a better world for your child. He cries too and you accept his apology.

From then on, he is extra attentive and you two fall even more in love.

L

You know that L is a logical person but all logic flies out of the window now. Your usually monotonous husband turns into an anxious mess.

"What if this or that goes wrong?" Becomes his new catchphrase.

At first you dismiss his worries but then it starts to get to you too. When you tell him it's making you stress out too, he calms down somewhat and puts that energy into making sure you're ok instead.

Mello

You would think Mello would have no patience when it came to dealing with a pregnant wife. But he's actually very caring and attentive with you. You're surprised but pleased.

You bring it up as a joke one night but he doesn't laugh. He takes your hands in his and tells you solemnly about his childhood as an orphan and how he always swore that his own children would have the best parents and the best life possible. It all makes sense now and you end up crying happy tears as he holds you close.

Matt

Matt immediately starts a project of turning the spare room into a baby room. He gets a bit carried away but you don't complain because it's cute that he's so excited.

He wants to surprise you, so he goes shopping alone almost everyday (which is new, he'd usually hardly go outside) and works on the room whenever you're resting.

You're not surprised on seeing the finished room that it's full of gaming merch, but he also got a tonne of anime merch for you. You throw yourself into his arms, squealing.

Near

Near is kind of useless. He was right, he's a child himself when it comes to looking after you. The SPK end up having to do most of it. They try to teach him but he's too busy playing with his toys. You joke that the baby may be a robot and his eyes light up. You begin to question your choice of husband, but you still love him anyway and he eventually starts to learn. He cares about you too much not to try.

Misa

Misa is a drama queen but also a very proud future mother who tells anyone who will listen about your pregnancy, including the media. Your house phone won't stop ringing and there are reporters camping outside the house. You end up breaking down into tears, it's too much for you.

Misa quickly finds a holiday home you can stay in for the rest of your pregnancy, away from the media attention. She's so sorry for telling them but you know she didn't mean any harm.

Matsuda

Matsuda is overeager to do everything for you, but he's also an idiot so usually up messes everything he tries to do. You love him and find his blunders amusing, plus he's good at making it up to you.

Beyond Birthday

Beyond craves jam all through your pregnancy. He claims it's "sympathy craving" but you know that's all he eats anyway. He promises not to start any more fires, which is his way of showing he cares. He keeps his word, almost...
