Your Labour

Light

Light calls his father to drive you both to the hospital. He sits in the back of the car with you and helps you breathe using the methods he learned from the nurses.

He prays to the "God of the new world" while you're on the bed. It's annoying, especially knowing he's praying to himself. You yell at him to shut the fuck up or get out. Luckily for him, he shuts up.

L

L falls apart when you go into labour, but you'd expected that and already arranged for Watari to bring you both to the hospital.

L disappears as soon as you're on a bed, then returns with about ten cakes from the hospital canteen. He sits down beside you and starts eating.

He offers you some and you yell that "No, you don't want some of his fucking cake right now."

The midwife tells him it's unhigenic and he looks torn between leaving to eat the cake or staying with no cake. You tell him to just leave if he wants, but he takes your hand and stays with you instead.

Mello

He drives you to hospital in the truck he stole for the occasion (so romantic, lol) He speeds and yells out the window at everyone car and pedestrian you pass that "He's having a baby!"

You can't stop laughing at the mental image of Mello having a baby, which makes your sides hurt even more. He helps you almost as much as the nurses in the hospital, having researched how best to help.

Matt

Matt also speeds while driving you to hospital in his car, but he always does. He made a mix tape especially for this journey. You're constantly amazed at the things he does. He may seem to always have his head in a game but then he does the most thoughtful things for you.

"Move bitch, get out the way!" You both sing/yell along with the music.

He's helpful at the hospital too, perhaps too helpful. You threaten to kick his head at one point because he keeps asking if he can do anything else.

Misa

You give birth in the holiday home because the taxi didn't come quickly enough. Misa remains surprisingly calm and guides you through it. You have an extra passenger in the taxi! The taxi driver is most apologetic but you don't care, you're just happy your baby is here.

Matsuda

Matsuda also has Chief Yagami on standby to help. He knows he'd be too anxious to drive you himself. He stays as close as possible to you the whole time and faints when he sees the baby.

Beyond Birthday

Beyond gets told off for eating jam (straight from the jar) in the ambulance. He also brought a stack of manga to read in the hospital. You tell that "It's ok for him" who can sit reading while you're in pain, so he reads aloud to you, describing the pictures too. The nurses look bewildered but that doesn't bother him.

Near

Near insisted on being at the birth, claiming he'd seen too much blood and core in cases at Wammys House to be bothered. You were glad to have him there.

You yelled for "every drug they have" and begged to just keep the baby in there but Near kept squeezing your hand and telling you that you could do this.

"I don't even know if I'm giving birth to a human baby or a lamb," You sobbed.

"I think you had too many painkillers," Near said.

"I needed them, I've already given birth to seven babies in this chapter."

"Yep, way too much drugs."

You heard a loud thump when the baby popped out. It was Near on the floor.

When he came around and the baby had been checked and washed, you three all cuddled up together.

"He has your hair and your weird but cute smile and your everything," You cooed. "He's literally the double of you."

Near smiled proudly as you fluffed his hair.

"My two babies, I love you both so much," You told him.

Near kissed your cheek.

"We both love you even more," He said.
