Heather's POV

I wonder how it went. I didn't hear any screams or guards rushing to the aid so it couldn't have gone that badly. Finally I heard footsteps outside of the door and I pretended to be asleep. The door opened and closed quietly and I felt pressure on the bed. Someone poked my stomach making me laugh.

"I knew you weren't asleep," Loki smirked. "This is my bed anyway,"

"Whatever. how'd it go?" I asked anxiously.

"It went fine, he wants a reason to start a war but has none right now. He's still convinced you loved him." He chuckled.

"Ugh he needs to just give up," I sighed. He looked very amused.

"So there was no one on Jotunheim you were interested in?" he asked.

"No, love is.... love lets you down," I said. His amused expression fell.

"Why do you say that?"

"Because there will never be anyone who makes you perfectly happy and will bring you pain... but...." I sighed.

"But??" he questioned. I chuckled.

"But... I guess you have to find someone worth feeling pain for." I smiled. He smiled back at me.

"Feeling tired?" he asked. I nodded. He pulled the blanket up and crawled in next to me.

"I have a room you know?" I laughed.

"Yeah I know, but I like you in mine," he smiled.

"I like it here too," I agreed. I looked up at the stars floating endlessly above us. His breathing slowed and I knew he was asleep. He looked so peaceful. I know he still feels pain in his heart that he was lied to as a child. And I guess I understand that on some level. Loki and I weren't so different after all.

**next morning**

Loki stirred and woke me up. I grumbled and rolled over.

"Get up, do you know what today is?" he asked. I growled a few words in response. "It's your birthday"

"It is?!" I asked excitedly. As if they were waiting outside my parents, Thor, and Brianna burst through the door. cheering birthday wishes at me.

"Happy birthday my sweet," my mother smiled.

"Thank you everyone, I look like trash though, ill meet you in the dining hall?" I asked.

"No no, it's being set up for your party tonight, throne room for breakfast. And I left a nice gown in your chambers, Thor can help you find your room since you seem to have forgotten where it was," Odin laughed. I blushed and looked down.

"That reminds me Loki, you owe me a helmet," I smirked. He sighed and fetched it for me placing it on my head. Everyone laughed, even him.

"Ill go get ready then," I smiled. The helmet kept slipping.

"Looks like we need to get it fitted," Mother laughed.

"I guess so," Loki smiled. I went to my chambers and saw a beautiful gown. it was green and gold, matching my fabulous helmet. I slipped it on and hurried to the throne room. Loki's jaw dropped as I walked in. Thor elbowed him in the side and mother laughed.

"So what do we do until the party?" I asked.

"Whatever you want! it's your day!" Thor chuckled. I thought for a moment.

"Brianna, want to have a girls' day?" I asked her.

"I'd love to," she beamed. Yay!

"I'm keeping the helmet Loki," I poked him.

"In your dreams, Princess. see you tonight," he smiled as we left. I was in desperate need to catch up with Brianna.
