Heather's POV
I skipped back to my room where Brianna was waiting.
"Why are you so happy?" she asked. I smiled.
"Cuz," I smirked. She rolled her eyes. "Get dressed in something nice, I'm uh takin you out," I told her. She eyed me suspiciously but complied. We heard a knock on the door and I ran to open it. I smiled up at my brother then scowled at Loki. He shook his head and waited for Thor to convince Brianna to come with us. Finally after a few minutes of arguing she came. Thor put a blindfold on her before we got there which did not sit well with her. Finally we got to the garden and he took it off. Brianna's jaw dropped when she saw the sight before her.
The candles were lit all around with rise petals scattered about. The aroma of lilies and other flowers wafted to our noses. The floral scent was mixed with the smell of delicious food that was guarded by Volstaag. Crickets chirped quietly in the background as the moon shined down on the entire scene. She turned to Thor with tears welling in her eyes.
"It's... it's beautiful" she smiled. "But why? tis not my birthday"
"Well tis not, but it is a special day. Our love should be celebrated by all of those who we adore and who adore us." Thor smiled. I saw Sif who was smirking at me from behind the table. I sighed and tried to focus on my brother.
"This is unexpected but much appreciated." Brianna smiled.
"There's one more thing," Thor said. He got on one knee and pulled a ring from his pocket. I recognized the ring instantly. It was the one Odin had given Frigga when they were first betrothed. The stars dazzled in its shiny reflection as Brianna stood in awe. "Would you make me the luckiest man in all of the nine realms and be my wife?"
"Thor...." Brianna whispered. "Of course!" She flew into his arms and kissed him. We all clapped and congratulated them. "You knew?" she asked me.
"Duh," I laughed. "I foiled his little surprise earlier today,"
"Well it was actually Loki's idea. He wanted to help me make this evening especially special for you," Thor smiled at Brianna.
"You wanted to help him?" I asked. Loki smiled softly and nodded. "Huh go figure"
"Can we go talk?" he asked me. I nodded and followed him to a quiet place. Sif shot me a nasty look when she saw us leave.
"It was nice of you to help my brother," I said.
"It was not all for him. I figured if maybe I helped him do something special for you best friend you may forgive me," he mumbled.
"I was just... surprised that you would be around her when we had such a rivalry as children, I suppose it's carried over as adults." I sighed. "At least now you know the truth,"
"I do, and I will never again jeopardize our relationship as long as we both shall live," he said all in one breath. I smiled and caressed his face. He brought his lips to mine and fireworks exploded. Literally. Brianna lit some off at the party.
"We better get back," I whispered with our foreheads touching and lips inches apart. He sighed and broke our connection. We walked back to the party hand in hand. Sif watched us intently so I gave Loki a passionate kiss. He pulled away and laughed.
"Was that for you or for her?" he asked.
"Both," I smirked before kissing him again.
