How does it feel to be persecuted by your own family?

IT HURTS
Gayle Palaca

It hurts why you can't support me
It hurts why you don't understand me
It hurts why you won't listen to me!

I thought you would understand
I thought you would believe me
I thought you would listen to me!

It hurts like hell
Having pillow as your crying shoulder
Having blanket as your comforter
Having tears to make you feel better

Because you won't listen to me
Because you won't let me explain
Because your minds are closed
And now, my heart's in pain

You should be the first one to understand
Not the first one to persecute me
Because you're not just any other people
But you're my own family

I feel like it's me against the world
Nobody is on my side
Nobody cares for me
I think my heart just died

All I want is your attention
Please lend me your ears
Even just for a minute
Help me dry my tears

There are so many words that I want to say
So many things that I want to share
But in the end, I chose to close my mouth
and just burst out crying in despair

I'm losing hope
No matter what I do or what I say
Nothing can change what you think of me
Because you already judged me in a way

So all I can do now is cry and cry
And just endure all the pain
Maybe someday, I can finally be happy
Because I believe there's always a rainbow after the rain
