Chapter 1: Long down the road of life

HEY GUYS! So for those who read this story past July 21st 2019 will see that I have gone ahead and rewritten the entire thing. In the time I was gone, I've been building up my universe more and I have decided to rewrite this book to match the new canon and make it more family friendly. Now without further ado, LET'S GET GOING!!!

This story comes from the POV of the main character Dominick as well as other key characters.

3rd person

This story takes place in the Colony of Darinport which was previously attacked by Xenomorph. The hive was exterminated and the Colony was refurbished with supposedly better military, and after 20 years almost everyone forgot about what happened. Although, Carlson Corporations was secretly doing something suspicions, Xenomorph may not be gone from the colony. Nobody truly knows what's apparently going on, and things are never as they seem. Something might be out there, creeping in the shadows, but nobody knows and only time will tell.

The Whitman family, Rodger the father, Carla the Mother, Edith the Daughter and Dominick the Son. In recent times, Rodger Age of 42, head of the local Carlson Corp labs has been on the case of Xenomorph while trying to make his two step-children good at work by force, described as "Very forcing" by Edith. Carla Age of 39, recently fired from her job as Captain of her own ship after hitting another ship (Classic right?) she relies on her husband for money and she is dedicated to be the perfect mom, however her ex-husband, Gareth turns up and twists her life upside down. Edith Age of 22, was forced into high class collage across the star system by her father, she has greatly hardened and is on her way to a successful life as a lawyer (Not her choice, she wanted to be a Veterinarian). Dominick Age of 8, about to go into a privet boarding school instead of a local middle school, similar to his sister Edith, he dislikes his father.

This somewhat dysfunctional family just barely manages to survive, although good times await... somewhat? Edith is coming home from college, Carla is getting a new job with the company as a shipment manager, Rodger is having a breakthrough on the Xenomorph living somewhere in the colony's vicinity. While Dominick can only wait for his new private school transfer. Hurray! *Sarcasm*

Although, Dominick has a way of keeping a high spirit, he takes small walks in the woods north of town, but what he didn't know was that he was never alone, She watched him every day from the tree tops, Sad that she didn't have a family, but she always knew to stay away from him, just as her mother taught her.

Dominick's POV

School let out at 4:00 PM, and as always I missed the bus and headed straight for my daily walk. People were judgmental and didn't like when I did that sense I was only 8. But I'm getting older as I'm turning 9 in a few days, only the weekend to go through. But today my Dad wants me to get home as soon as possible, my Mom convinced him to let me take my walk. I'll need to be home by 5:30, so I decided to cut my walk short today and head home early, although that meant walking through uncharted woods that I didn't know. Anything so dad won't scold me.

It was roughly 40 minutes sense I left school, home was about mile away, give or take a half. Through the trees I saw a large dense hill, I forgot it was there, I decided I was gonna hug them till I reached the more civilized part of the colony.

About 5 minutes later I found a cave, the opening had boulders blocking the entrance with a tiny opening in it, but curiosity got the best of me and I went to explorer.

It was a tight fit with my bag so I left it outside with the exception of my flashlight. I turned on the flashlight to look at the walls, they had black stuff on then and so did the floor. And also a horrid stench! But I was determined and continued my way through the cave out of curiosity until I heard a sort of whine, I followed it thinking maybe someone else got lost in here, I turned right, then left and so on. I reached a major junction in the cave, but an odd shape in the center of the room caught my eye, it was the same color as everything else. I also identified the weeping coming from it, I shined my light on it to show its odd body features. It was facing away but I could make out a tail and 4 tube like things protruding from its back, and an elongated head. I don't think it noticed me when I snuck up as it just had its head down, I moved close enough to touch it but I hadn't reached out to do so. It was some sort of odd animal that's for sure!

I build up the courage to reach for it, and I then felt what appeared to be its shoulder which stuck out some ways. It stopped whimpering and moved its head in my direction... it had no eyes, but had really sharp teeth, even though it had no eyes I could feel its gaze.

By now it had stood up and was completely facing me, it was a moment of silence as I now saw the sharp blade on the end of its tail and its sharp claws. It started slowly advancing towards me but I walked back at about the same speed, I backed against a wall now seeing I forgot where I was in the cave, it was just me... and it. It stood about a foot in front of me, peering down at me, it opened its mouth slowly to show a second mouth. It moved closer.... so close that its 2nd mouth was against my neck, I could feel its warm breath on my face as it was investigating me. I found the courage to look back at it again, its head was pressed against my head by this point. "Just stay still," I told myself "it will all be over."
