Chapter 40: Timing is everything

Jerry's POV

I was sitting in some room. Mary was getting a few coffees. Kevin was taking a nap. I looked in front of me on the table to find a pulse rifle gotten from the armory by Kevin. [Jerry]"When I first met Dominick, I didn't know this is what it would lead to." [Mary]"It's whatever, and awesome. I thought you loved the adventure," I looked up and saw Mary walk in the room with two coffees. "Here you go Jerry." I took the coffee from her and started drinking out of it.

[Jerry]"Sure, but I guess I didn't know what I was getting into." [Mary]"Neither did the rest of our friends. Tell me, have you heard of the butterfly effect?" [Jerry]"No? Enlighten me, what is it?"

Mary clears her throat. [Mary]"It can also be called the Domino effect, or cause and effect." [Jerry]"I assume it has a large EFFECT on life, hmm?" [Mary]"Yes.... Think about it. Everything everyone has done in their lives have led to this very moment!" [Jerry]"Okay?" [Mary]"How did we get here? Parent's choices to send their kid to a paid school, Dominick's dad working at Carlson, finding the Xenomorph. Inventing space travel, it all comes down to the choice that set the domino effect into motion."

[Jerry]"Okay, cut the confusing stuff Mary. Gosh, school ended two years ago." I get up and place my now finished coffee on a nearby counter space. [Mary]"Meh, whatever." I look out a window into the cold depths of space, I sighed as I saw a small rock float by. [Jerry]"We got everyone to leave this ship, what do we do now? I'm bored." Mary rolled her eyes and smiled. [Mary]"Come on Jerry, there are certain things to help keep us busy while we wait." [Jerry]"What about after we occupy ourselves? More waiting?" [Kevin]"Get drunk. That usually stops boredom!" [Jerry]"No thank you." Kevin shrugs and walks over to the cooler and pulled out some wine. [Kevin]"Thank god, I say who cares if you're underage. Wanna have some?" [Jerry]"No!" [Kevin]"Yeah, I know.... If there's one thing I found, it's that men get drunk faster when they want a drink...... Who knows which one is worse, before or after the drink? Also why didn't you get me a hot beverage?" Kevin walked away to sit back down.

[Mary]"Oops." [Jerry]"I guess I can take your offer up Mary. I have nothing better to do anyway." [Mary]"Right, let's go. Just gotta think of something to do first." [Jerry]"Wait what? You didn't think ahead, I had a good idea of what we were gonna do." [Mary]"Oh, like your idea is better then what I could come up with?" [Jerry]"Trust me, it is!" [Mary]"Alrighty, let's go do your thing then."

Dominick's POV

[Grace]"What will you do?" I look at Xylia, [Dominick]"Well, it's not like we will do it again..... Without permission." [Xylia]"Yeah, Please trust us. Also this is our child that me and Dominick will raise, and take care of." [Grace]"Hmmmm, we can't have my children having children of their own..... But yet again, Only Dominick is capable of successful fertilization. So I guess I'm not that worried. I'm debating whether or not you stay or leave..." Me and Xylia look at Grace in shock. [Dominick]"Wait, you're considering kicking us out!?" [Grace]"Maybe, not confirmed. But it's the best outcome. It also brings you new opportunities. Think about it. We will resume this conversation after the threat has passed. And as a reminder, you can always come and visit if you are to leave."

I shook my head and started pondering [Xylia]"You know Dominick, I'm almost thinking we leave, it gives us an opportunity to create our own hive." [Dominick]"Well, when you put it that way..... I may consider." [Grace]"Of course. But let's deal with these Slayrogin? Let my children gather as many eggs as they can. I'll lay as many as I can too, and you? Arrange transportation for them into battle." [Dominick]"Yes!!!!" Me and Xylia high sixed.

I got my phone and called my Mom. [Dominick]{Mom, we need the dropship now. We are ready to start loading the eggs.} [Carla]{Good job Dominick. I'll come by with the ship.} She hung up then.

[Dominick]"This is perfect." Me and Xylia hug. So comforting. [Grace]"Alright you two lovebirds. Go help gather the eggs if you can." Me and Xylia stopped and nodded at Grace. [Xylia]"Will do Mrs. Queen Grace." [Dominick]"Why were you being formal there?" Xylia thought a moment. [Xylia]"I don't know." [Grace]"Oh, and hurry if you're going to do this." I rolled my eyes, we then went off to find some eggs and deliver them to the drop ships.
