The Friend in a Xenomorph

Chapter 5: Connections

Dominick's POV

Long Dark Tunnels. Rotting corpses here and there, then the occasional Xenomorph corpse. Also these opened pods, some burned and some not. This place seemed to be so alive including the walls! And also prosperous, then something happened and it all died. I eventually came across a room that had tons of those pods in it. Significantly more people on the walls. This must have been a breeding area?

But one thing caught my eyes more the anything. One of the pods was still closed, curiosity was too much to bare and I started sneaking up to it. the thought of a tiny Xeno coming out of it was not on mind as if that was what happened then the Xenomorph wouldn't be "Parasitic" Thinking about it more got me wary of walking closer, so I stopped moving.

Just a staring contest between me and the pod, who knows if this thing had eyes, I mean, Xenomorph kinda don't. Then it opened. AW HELL NO! I started walking backwards, but then a spider thing came out, it had a tail similar to Xylia. It started crawling towards me which meant bad news. I started running backwards when I ran into a Xenomorph, it wasn't Xylia or Demeanor, but Sapling I think!

She stared down at me then at the spider then she just walked away. I got up and ran past Sapling to evade the spider. I'm surprised she didn't think anything of it.

That's when I hit a dead end. Now surly a spider couldn't have chased me this far OH SHOOT! There it was in hot pursuit. I heard a Shriek and then it stopped. That's when I saw Xylia walking towards it. She bent down and started talking gibberish towards the spider which apparently caused it to run off. She then walked towards me and grabbed my hand and started walking me somewhere. Presumably someplace other than this creepy part of the Hive.

We eventually made it back to the junction we met in. [Dominick]"Seems like you showed that spider thing who's boss!" Xylia faux Snickered a little. [Dominick]"Ok what's wrong, you didn't wreck something did you? Your mom's brains aren't spattered everywhere are they?" Xylia grabbed a piece of paper and handed it to me. There was nothing on it thought. [Dominick]"Ok somethings definitely wrong. What's up?!" she turned the paper around. It was pretty embarrassing since I was reading the wrong side. [Dominick]"Oops."

It read "I found something cool, you must see it. Sapling helped me out with it since she was taking a break today."

[Dominick]"Cool, I saw Sapling on my walk by the way, but what's this cool thing you must have me see?" She grabbed my hand again and pulled me off someplace else. My hand's getting pretty tired at this point. We found ourselves back in the Queen's chamber. To my surprise the Queen's head wasn't in pieces but just a tiny hole. She pulled me over to the Queen and placed my hand on the Queen's head... nothing happened.

[Dominick]"I appreciate the effort here Xylia, but I think you failed." Xylia started panicking, she started poking around in the head hole then started poking around my hand, then my head. She then started staring at me which made me really uncomfortable, I think she was using laser vision or something because my head started hurting. [Dominick]"Ok Xylia, I think your staring is working because I think I can feel your vision going right into my head." Xylia then moved closer until our foreheads touched. My head started hurting really bad, I was starting to think I was getting what my Dad called a "Migraine" as I also started seeing things. [Dominick]"I Think you brain thing is working because I feel like my brain is melting." The pain was excruciating.

Everything went into a major blur and I was out.

Xylia's POV

I could feel Dominick's Mind and thoughts, it was working. Then everything stopped and he fell to the floor [Xylia]"Dominick! Dangit...." I picked him up and tried waking him up. [Xylia]"Dominick, Wake up!" Blood started coming out his nose. [Xylia]"Sapling I need a hand over here." Sapling came in and examined Dominick. [Sapling]"I think you fried his brains."

[Xylia]"No I didn't! Maybe we should try to wake him up?" [Sapling]"Good luck with that, maybe Demeanor can help you!" I looked at her and shook my head. [Xylia]"You're the one who has the brain capacity of a praetorian! You do something." [Sapling]"Fine, let me try to tap into his mind." Sapling put her hand on Dominick's head and started concentrating.

I felt a sudden rush of resonation off Dominick, his eyes opened and he sat up taking a deep breath. [Dominick]"What happened! Xylia? What happened, I know you're responsible." [Sapling]"Done! You try and talk to him, but whatever happens I'm not waking him up again!" [Xylia]"Well I won't force his brain then!" Sapling shrugged then walked off and I was left alone with Dominick. [Xylia]"I'm glad you're alright though Dominick."

[Dominick]"I'm still waiting for an answer....wait what time is it!" He checked his Watch. [Dominick]"oh no! It's almost morning, I have to get back home before my Mom or Dad finds me not in my room. Bye!" He then gets up runs off. He's probably gonna get lost again. I ran ahead to help guide him.

Dominick's POV

Xylia assisted me out of the Hive and back home, I said goodbye and went to bed. I woke up as normal and got ready for school as it was Tuesday, Today my Mom was at a job interview so I had to get ready on my own. School was fine, my Dad picked me up thought which was weird.

[Rodger]"So Dominick, how was school?" I looked at my Dad because he was being nice again today. [Dominick]"Fine...?" [Rodger]"Today I'm going to the labs and need you to come with." [Dominick]"Why? Didn't we go the other day?" [Rodger]"Don't back talk to your father! We are because I said so." I began to pout and look out the window.

We arrived at the Labs, I got out and followed him. We walked through the lobby and came upon an elevator. [Rodger]"Request entry." the elevator opened. We walked in and rode it down to the subterranean labs. [Rodger]"Stay close, and don't touch anything." We walked down a long hallway until we approached a heavy looking door, Dad talked with some people and was given this key card which he used to open the door.

[Rodger]"The rule set earlier is twice as effective in this room!" The room looked like a control room with console and the big window. My Dad and I walked over to the console and through the window was something that surprised me. I saw a living Xenomorph in Containment. [Rodger]"So the other day I mentioned something called a Xenomorph, the thing that scratched you? Well here's one that we caught about a week or two ago!

It was sitting in the corner and had its head down, It must be so sad, probably one of Xylia's siblings. [Dominick]"Wait, I thought you didn't have proof of them here yet!" [Rodger]"That's what we want people to think, it wouldn't hurt Carlson that we're keeping a Xenomorph for study before I report in with it. It means more time to study. Also my colleague Dr. Ryders is experimenting so, we need more time for this stuff." I went and leaned against the window to look at the Xenomorph.

It looked up and looked at me, it got up and approached the window. My dad pulled me away from the window and had me stand behind the console. One of the Lab assistance started writing down notes. But besides everyone working, the Xenomorph was still looking in my direction. I moved to the other-side of the room and its gaze followed. [Ivan]"You, I sense a strong mind coming off you, can you understand me? If so, my name is Ivan." I heard it,

[Dominick]"Dad, you think we could leave now or at least take me out of here? That Xenomorph is staring right at me." I pointed at it to show Dad that it was, The Xenomorph started baring its teeth at me. [Rodger]"I suppose that is odd," My dad went to inform some of the men and came back over. "Come on Dominick, there is a room you can wait in." [Ivan]"Dominick, your name is? Can I talk with you? I know you can hear me." I tried to ignore him but I could feel his mind trying to get my attention. Probing me for a reaction.

[Rodger]"Ok, you stay here, I'll be out in about an hour, here is a Tablet to keep you occupied." he walked back into the lab. My headache got really bad, I could feel Ivan trying to talk to me. I looked down at the Tablet to see a Blood drop, another drop fell. I wiped my nose with my finger and saw I had blood on it, [Ivan]"Hey! Talk to me!" I heard him again. Anger built up inside me from nowhere for no reason.

[Dominick]"Shut up!"
