Chapter 8: Edith is home!

Dominick's POV

Today is Wednesday and Edith is coming home today. This day will be eventful for sure. Let's look at some things to prove my theory, gifts! I happen to know a few of them. Edith will be thrilled.... Also as usual, the person who's being celebrated gets to choose a movie to watch..... Some are really bad, like the year before Edith left for collage, she chose to watch Whalenado 6!

My parents had me get up early to help with setting up the house. Consisting of balloons, streamers and fancy plates and napkins. (All paper)

With everything done we hurried down to the Space Docks to pick up Edith. There were ships everywhere, which where all Carlson Corp ships as this colony is based around the Carlson Corp labs here that my Dad works at.

We pulled up and went inside the registration building to retrieve Edith. She was just checking in when we got in. next to her was a man about her age, figured a friend or something.

[Carla]"Edith my darling. It's so nice to see you again!" She looks over at mom and smiles. [Edith]"Hey mom, nice to see you too Dominick." [Dominick]"I'm going crazy without you being annoying." Me and Edith share a quick laugh. [Edith]"Hello father." she said kinda dully. [Rodger]"Hello." he pulled Edith close and whispered something to her.... he was terrible at it because I heard what he said. [Rodger]"Your mom is making me be nice." I rolled my eyes.

[Carla]"So who's this?" [Edith]"Excuse me mom, this is my Boyfriend James, James West." [James]"Hello Mrs. Whitman." My mom and James shake hands. [James]"Hello to you too Mr. Whitman, and you Dominick." I smiled and shook his hand. [Dominick]"You too." [Edith]"It's actually kinda funny how we met." [James]"Don't share it, please Edith."

[Edith]"We were walking down the hallway and we bumped into each other. He had some magazines or something involving anime, but we totally fell in love at first sight." My Parents started staring at James seemingly trying to intimidate him.

[James]"All people have their things they like to do.... don't judge!" [Edith]"It's fine Mom, It wasn't anything weird or something." My Dad seemed to except that answer. [Rodger]"Well we set up something cool at home so we better get leaving." [Edith]"We don't want to keep my Dad waiting James... Let's go."

We all got into the car which was quite the tight fit but it worked until James pulled a beer can out of his bag. Edith leaned closer to me. [Edith]"Beer smells gross. Do we add beer to the list of banned things?" I smile. [Dominick]"Um duh, yes." She smiled and nodded then turned to face James. [Edith]"I have made a proposal to ban your drinking." He looked over at us, however he narrowed his eyes at me when he saw that I was giggling to myself. [James]"Hold on Edith, Dominick. This is the start of a rivalry!" [Edith]"Oh stop!"

James' comment stuck..... Demeanor said the same thing. [Carla]"Now guys, when we get home we are watching a movie straight from Edith's choice." [Edith]"Yes!" [James]"I'll watch just about anything except Alien." (4th wall break there!!!!) [Rodger]"Well you know what Daughter's boyfriend, you don't get to decide!" [James]"My name is James." [Rodger]"Sure yeah whatever."

We pulled up to our house and got out. [Carla]"Now I don't mean to brag but I think me and Nicky have done a great job here." [Dominick]"Sure did." [Rodger]"Save you're boasting for school." Mom opened the door and let us all in.

[James]"Why is it so dark in here!" [Rodger]"Don't ask me, Carla's responsible." [Carla]"I'll turn on the lights... let me find them first." [Edith]"So, what are you hiding in here?" [Dominick]"Something cool duh." [Edith]"I know. That's what you guys said."

The lights turned on and in front of us was the wonderful view of party balloons and streamers. And Edith's favorite... Apple pie. [Edith]"OMG thank you guys. This is great!" James started clapping at the excitement. [Carla]"Now we all got you a gift for this wonderful day, let's open them before we dig into our breakfast celebration."

She pulled out the 3 gifts and placed them on the table. [Edith]"Lets dig in."

The first Box was a Debit card in her name. Along with a check to go into her bank account. It had 1,000,000 Dollars on it! [Edith]"I could buy a mansion with this money." She smiled then looked at Dad sense it was from him.

Edith then grabbed Mom's gift which was some car keys. [Edith]"No way!" [Carla]"Surprise Edith, We have you a new car in the garage." We all went out to the garage and there was Edith's new car.... Not even I saw this coming. It was an expensive Blue sports car. [James]"That's such a nice car. So much better them mine... you are so spoiled Edith." [Edith]"That's what happens when your Dad works as one of the heads of Carlson Corp Xenomorph devision. They make a lot of money." [Carla]"Don't forget Dominick also got you something, you two can go driving later." I smiled and ran back inside so I could hand the box personally to her.

[Edith]"Ok Dominick. What's in the box?" [Dominick]"Open it and find out!" Everyone gathered around to see what it was since I bought it privately. Edith opened the box and gasped. It was something she asked for before she left. It was the Hat that once belonged to her favorite band's lead singer. I know a hat may sound dumb, but she asked me to somehow get a hold of it. How I got it? I bought it from an auction, sure I went through a beating from my dad for spending over 6 million dollars for some hat that belonged to the head of a boy-band she loves to death. Apparently tons of other people also wanted it..... Some people are really desperate... like me to make my sister happy.

[Rodger]"Um. A hat?" [Edith]"That only belongs to my favorite guy in the world! Sorry James, but you're so lame compared to him, but because you're so wonderful.... that makes him dreamy!"

[James]"I can't tell if that was an insult or a compliment." [Edith]"Whatever it was, this is still better than 1 million dollars and my dream car." She put the hat on and started posing in it. [Carla]"I don't get it..... How did you get that Dominick?" My mom was jealous. [Dominick]"I bought it in a 6 million dollar auction." [Rodger]"Wait... That's what you bought! A hat!? I would have at least expected you to buy something actually worth that much!" [Edith]"You have no idea." [James]"Put aside this, I think me and Edith will go out driving and spend lots of money." [Carla]"Oh no you don't! We are watching a Movie." [Rodger]"I can rent any movie tonight."

[Edith]"I Choose...... Spaceballs!" (Just to remind you but Spaceballs also breaks the fourth wall somewhat because it has a Xenomorph cameo in it. The movie is hilarious though.)
