I pulled Malachi by the sleeve of his arm, pulling him outside of he buffet restaurant.
Right as I pulled him into a place where nobody was, I glared at him and let go of his sleeve.
"Malachi! What is wrong with you?!" I said annoyed and irritated.
"Look... I meant it as a joke. Can't you two take a joke?" He said in a British accent.
"He has a girlfriend! Can't you understand that!" I yelled.
He slammed his hand on the side of me and looked at me. "Look, I'm sorry alright? I just... I don't think Liza is a good match for my brother. If he ends up marrying her, I don't think I could handle that. Can I tell you something?" He asked in a serious tone this time.
He's actually being serious...
"Yeah?"
He started to walk around a little and stopped as he put his leg up against the wall.
"Levin has always been surrounded by fan girls and girls that just wanted him to get popular or just because he's handsome. I don't want someone to date him because of that reason..." He started.
"Then, in high school, I had a plan. Don't get mad at me for this but, you two just seemed like the perfect couple. Remember when you were hosting a sleepover? I pretended to be sick. I told Kyle and Lex to make something up. I just... Wanted you two to be together. Y/N, I love you as a family member, friend, whatever. You're just so amazing. I included you part of the family even if you didn't see it," He said sighing.
"So, I'll stop but I won't promise anything," He winked and smirked. "But, just know that I don't see anything in Liza that would fit her to be Levin's girlfriend or even future wife. She always wants to be alone with him, unlike you. You accept anyone Levin hangs out with even if he changes plans last minute."
I was speechless. I didn't know what to say at his speech.
"There are so many differences between you two... Levin and met each other in college. By the end of it, they started dating. Liza can be too mature and almost control Levin. She doesn't like video games or movies that contain superheroes or child movies. I just... It was so different without you. I'm sorry..." He said sighing and put his hand on his head, shaking his head. "Anyways, December is coming up... You should think of buying me a gift! I deserve it!" He smirked and walked up in front of me.
I smiled softly and chuckled afterwards, surprised at his serious tone and his happy tone.
"Malachi... I understand what you mean. But, I'm willing to stay friends with Levin and not anything further on. I respect his relationship with Liza and maybe will get to know her better..." I said looking away from him, avoiding eye contact.
"Liar..."
I looked at him in awe and could see him still looking at me. "I remember how obvious it was when you straight up lied. You're a horrible liar sometimes... Tell me what's bothering you."
I looked at him in the face again and gulped. "She's bothering me. I feel like, Levin and I aren't as close anymore because of Liza and me. After all, I was the one who wanted to run away from my feelings and start fresh, only to be brought back to you guys."
"Isn't Karma wonderful? Heh, you're just scared of him leaving you. What if... Liza wasn't his girlfriend? Would you take a chance?" He asked out of curiosity.
I blushed a little and took upon his serious tone. "I'm almost scared of that... Isn't that pathetic? I'm an adult now and I should know about that stuff."
"You lost your parents at an age where they would guide you with your feelings. I don't blame you if you feel scared. But, if I was you, I would take a chance," He said smiling. "Because, if you're just hiding your feelings for someone else, you're risking your happiness. You'll be the one in the shadows. Maybe... Maybe you should move on, and forget about Levin? Or try to forget about your feelings for him? That's what you wanted after all..."
"Since when did you agree to anything I said?" I said chuckling.
"Since I started to actually take upon your request and help you out. Seriously though, if you're just going to keep your feelings locked up, you might as well move on and find someone else. Wouldn't that be easier? I mean... I never dated anyone so I have zero experience..."
"MALACHI!"
"A-Ah! W-What?!" He said surprised at my sudden yelling.
"I just got the perfect idea! What if... What if I find you a date! An ideal woman that you'll love!"
"H-Huh?" He blushed suddenly and covered it with his hands. "N-No!"
It was my turn to smirk, and he seemed defenseless.
"You work as a photographer don't you? So, do you have like a workplace?"
"C-Course I do! I have my own office area to print out my photos and show my boss or manager, which allows access to putting my photos in special places. Museums, government, blah blah blah... But, yeah. Why do you ask?- OH HELL NAH YOU AREN'T COMING TO MY WORKPLACE TO SET UP GIRLS! I AM 100% SURE I AM ATTRACTED TO GIRLS BUT I WILL NOT DATE ONE!"
"Oh c'mon Malachi! This is the most exciting part about being adults! You get to experience dating~"
His face flushed bright red and he averted his eyes, embarrassed to say anything.
"I-I hate you... Maybe I shouldn't have said anything about me not having any dating experience," He mumbled loud enough.
"Oh c'mon! You said I needed something to get my mind of Levin! And I am! I'm going to help you get the girl of your dreams!"
