"It's been like over a week, Lex," Aimee says tiredly. "Please get out of bed. For me?"

I just cover my head with my blanket and stay quiet. I can hear her set next to me though.

"Remember that time in eighth grade where you completely embarrassed yourself in front of Steve Richardson. You-you-" she chokes, laughing, "were talking to him, and I don't even know how, but you tripped in the mud. Oh my god. We were in the restroom during 5th period trying to get the dirt out of your hair and clothes for a solid 30 minutes. You swore off boys and then bored me to death talking about Bart Williamson the next week. Also, Bart is such an ugly name."

I lift my head from the covers. "I know," I groan "On our date, he kept trying to creep his hand up my thigh. And we were at his little cousin's birthday party!"

"Ah, that was your first boyfriend on your string of bad boyfriends," she sighs happily in a joking matter.

"I really know how to pick them, didn't I?" I joke back.

"You sure do, babe."

"I thought Nick was a good one."

"I know, Lex." She pulls the covers down more.
"Now, will you get up for me?"

"Anything for you, my majesty," I say with a teasing smile.

"Shut it," she says with a grimace. "Just get up." She hits me with my pillow, and I protect my face with my hands.

"Alright, alright," I say.

"We're going to get coffee. Try to at least look nice," she criticizes.

"T-shirt and sweats good enough for you?" I ask, holding up two different pairs of sweats.

"That's the best I'll get out of you today, huh?" She asks.

"You're lucky I'm even going out," I say, giving her a look.

"Alright, then."

We are sitting outside the shop.

"List all the things you love about Nick," Aimee says suddenly, sipping her coffee casually.

"What? Aims, how's that-"

"Don't question it," she rushes. "Just answer me," she says firmly. She pleads with her eyes.

"I love how he was always there for me, before everything, you know? I could tell him about literally anything, and he'd just listen. I love how he treated me like a queen when we were so in love. It was so nice and different from how anyone else had ever treated me. He could make me laugh for days. He's such a drama queen, to be honest. He's the sassiest person I know. His hugs are like super tight too. I could literally just die in his arms."

"Morbid, Lex," she shudders. "Lex," she sighs. She leans over the table to wipe a tear from the corner of my eye.

"I didn't even realize," I mumble. "Aims, what was the point of that?" I question, exasperated.

"It's part of the process. You have to remember before you forget, Lex," she says softly. She overlaps her hands over mine.

"It's just hard, that's all. Plus, I don't want to forget it all. I don't regret my relationship with him. The times I spent with him were some of the best times of my life, before it went to shit, you know?"

"You're too nice for this world, Lexee Gomez."

"I miss LA, though," I admit.

"I get it. I'm not enough for you anymore," she fake whimpers, bringing her hand to her eyes to wipe her fake tears.

"Don't be silly," I giggle. "I miss the environment. I miss Edwin, Brandon, Zion, and Austin. They are good people. It's not their fault my relationship with Nick didn't work. I miss pursuing my passion."

She shrugs. "It's not like you can't pursue your passion here."

"What do you mean?"

"For God's sakes, Lex, you can still sing from New Jersey! You just need to find your passion again."

"I really want to, Aims."

"Finally," she groans.
