I am at a friend's party, or more like a friend of a friend's. Honestly, you get used to going to parties of people you don't even know when you're well-known in the industry.

I have been here for well over an hour, and I am bored out of my mind. I expected to have more friends at these things when Aimee and Miles moved to LA, but they already had plans for a date night. Sometimes I forget they are even together until they spring this news on me. It's only because their relationship hadn't really changed.

The host stumbled up to me, slightly tipsy. "I invited your ex," she slurred. "I really hope you don't mind. I heard you guys were like getting back together or something, so maybe I did you a favor. If not, I promise to not invite him next time. I'm on your side, girl." She kind of pushes me, playfully. I know she means well, but I am quite relieved when she starts to strut away.

"Huh," a voice next to me said, making me jump. "She said the same thing to me."

I turn around and whack Nick in the chest. "Nick!" I exclaim.

"What?" He asked innocently with a smirk.

I sigh, letting it go with a smile. "What are you doing here?" I asked instead.

He raises an eyebrow at me. "Well, I was invited."

I duck my head. "Right," I breath.

He holds out his hat. "Look what I have."

I grab the hat out of his hand and place it on my head. "Do you just bring a hat with you to seduce every girl now?"

He raises an eyebrow at me again, which was getting a bit annoying if it weren't cute. "Is it working?"

I give him a look and smirk, "Not anymore."

"It's still a good game to pass time."

We walk outside to the backyard. There are swings so we both sit in one. Nick is still holding his hat carefully in one hand. I had grabbed a paper on the way out, and I know he usually carries a marker on him for autographs.

It was a game that we used to play back when we were together.

"Babe, I'm bored," I say, trying my best not to sound whiny because that's annoying, but I'm a bit annoyed.

"Lex," he whines with a light chuckle, "you agreed to go to a party with me and my friends at least once a month. You know I can't just abandon them just because I'm with you now. Even though I want to spend all my time with you."

I sigh with a bit of a groan too. I lay my head on his shoulder. "I know, I know." I turn my head so that the side of my head is now resting on his shoulder. "But this particular party sucks. The guy hosting is a dick."

"He is obnoxious, but he is part of the team."

"When can we leave?"

He kisses my temple. "One more hour, babe. One more hour." I sigh again. "How about we play a game?" He gently pushes me off his shoulder so that he could look at me.
