"You promised you'd go!" Aimee whines, glaring at my undressed state from the door.
"I promised you two days ago when I thought I could do it, but now that it's two hours away, I don't think I can," I reply, scratching my head. "I mean, there's gonna be so many people there, and I'm not ready to like mingle with everyone, with guys."
"You can just go to the party and mingle with me," she tries to persuade me.
I glare at her. "Aims, we both know you invited me because you want me to mingle with other people."
"What?" She asks, waving her hand in an attempt to distract me.
"You want me to move on, which I get, but maybe it's just too soon?" I say in a questioning matter, shrugging.
"Okay," she says, defeated. "You don't have to move on with other guys, but you want to be happy, don't you?"
I smile up at her. "More than anything in the world. I miss being happy."
She smiles softly in return. "I miss you being happy too." She hops over to me and outstretches her hand. "That's why we're going to go to this party like we own it and dance and have fun."
I stand up and laugh. "Can you pick out an outfit for me though because we both know I'm shit at that."
She chuckles. "Yes, we do know that."

The party is so lively. The atmosphere is so lively. It is so refreshing. The crowd around us is so happy and alive. There are people in the corner of the room talking to each other as they pour their drinks. There are people in the center of the room dancing with each other and having the time of their lives. There are people sitting in the other corner of the room playing games, such as darts, cards, and more. It isn't a very crowded party, but everyone here seems to be enjoying themselves. It is a change in environment for me.
