Ethan slide down the pole and landed on his bare feet. He was wearing a plain black t-shirt and Lon grey shorts that fell to his knees. He approached Sandra first and gave her a shoulder hug. He then moved to Mike and shook his hand.

"Nice to meet you bro." He said and mike nodded his head.

My stomach turned upside down knowing it was my turn.

"Hey." He said gave me smile, the eye contact lasted less than a second.

"Hi." I looked at him, but he was already looking to Grayson.

"Mike, Sandra, do you guys wanna come see the sign." Grayson said leading them away. I raised my eyebrow and Grayson gave me a look assuring me. What was he up to?

Don't leave me alone! was all that my mind was screaming.

"It lights up too." Grayson's voice faded as he moved away.

It was just me and Ethan.

I fiddled with my fingers and waiting for him to speak first.

"So?" He said and I looked at him. He was still avoiding my gaze.

"So?"

"We cool?" He asked, this time he looked at me. "No hard feelings?"

"Uh-Yeah I-" I stuttered.

"Great!" He clapped cutting me off and walked away. He left me stood there watching him walk away.

That was it? I don't know what I was expecting, but it was much more than this.

It took me a minute to catch on before following after him. Grayson gave me a questioning look and I just shrugged my shoulders.

In that moment my phone buzzed and I pulled it out of my pocket and checked it.

It was a text from a boy in one of my classes called Mohamed. I opened the message and raised an eyebrow.

Asalaamu alaykum it said

I quickly greeted him back, wondering what he needed. Probably some help with the assignment that was set for us. I wonder how he got my number, but I added him to my contacts so I didn't get confused.

Mo:
How was your day?

Me:
It was good? Wbu?

This was strange, but I guess he was just being friendly.

"So!" Grayson's said clapping his hands, taking my eyes off the screen.

"I wanna go on the trampoline. Mike come with me." I said pulling him and kicking off my shoes before climbing on.

I began to jump as Mike struggled to get on his feet.

"Can you stop?" He said and I couldn't stop laughing. He finally arose to his feet and we jumped simultaneously.

"So how did it go?" He whispered, the squeaky noise we made every time we jumped making it difficult to hear.

"I don't know. He said "are we cool" and I said yeah and then it was done. So I guess we're in good terms." I said.

"I was expecting more." He said running his hands through his hair attempting to fix it every time it fell out of place from jumping.

"Me too." I stopped jumping, my feet getting tired.

"Wanna come in the foam pit?" Grayson asked passing by.

"Hell yeah." I climbed off the trampoline and Grayson grabbed me by the elbow, assisting me on getting out.

Still only wearing sock, Grayson lead the way to the top area before the foam pit.

"On 3 we all jump at once." Grayson instructed.

"Sandra you wanna join?" Mike asked her but she shook her head.

"That foam is gonna fuck up this skirt!" She yelled from the bottom.

"Suit yourself!" Mike yelled back, while I pulling up my skirt so I could jump easily.

"1, 2, 3!" Grayson yelled and I took hold of his hand as we both leaped into the air. We landed into the soft foam cubes and laughed.

"That was so fun!" I said wiggling. "But the question is how do I get out?"

"Just push yourself." Grayson said showing me, pulling himself to the corner and climbing over the cubes.

I attempted to copy, but every time I stood on a cube, it would just sink dragging me down with it.

"Okay this isn't working." I gave up, putting my hands up in defeat.

"Here, I got you." Mike called out from the top of the foam pit.

I tried my best to crawl to the edge so he could reach me. I extended my arms out and he grabbed me by my elbows and one arm around my waist and lifted me up.

"Don't drop me!" I said and he jokingly pretended to let go.

"Don't play like that!" I squealed and laughed. Mikes had a tight grip on my waist and he yanked me up a little too fast cause me to crash onto of him.

"You idiot." I said giggling along with him, our faces uncomfortably close.

From the corner of my eye I could see the rest of the guys watching us. I knew Ethan was watching us.

Mikes hand was still on my waist when we both arose. I didn't remove it or move away.

"My legs are tired from all that climbing." I complained wiping imaginary sweat off my forehead.

"I got you." Mike said and picked me up bridal style and carried me down the stairs. I didn't fight it, I actually liked it.

I guess you could say something overcame me. Something deep inside sparked when I knew Ethan's eyes were on me. I didn't know what it was, but I knew it wasn't good.
