"You okay?" Sandra asked while I slipped on my shoes again."Yeah." I nodded and continued. She kept staring at me until I gave in and looked back at her.
I raised my eyebrow at her.
"We'll talk about it later if you don't wanna talk right now." She said and rubbed my back. I liked how she knew this stuff without me having to tell her.
A few seconds later Sandra's phone rang. She muttered and yelled before hanging up and I have her a questioning look.
"My damn brother fucked up my car apparently!" She sounded furious.
"Wait, Dylan?" I asked. "How the hell did he get your car in the first place?"
"I kinda let him use it for the day and I thought I could trust him, but the idiot crashed into a pole!" She was pacing back and forth, her heels slapping the hard floor.
"I gotta go." She snatched her bag off the ground. "Mike, I need you to drive me."
"I'll come too." I offered also grabbing my bag.
"No, you can stay and catch up. You guys haven't seen each other and you deserve this time." She said giving me a sincere look.
"You sure?"
"Positive." She jogged to both Grayson and Ethan and have them a quick hug before racing out of the side doors with Mike.
I dropped my bag down and looked at the boys. I lied down on my back and stared at the ceiling next to Grayson.
"Well, I gotta go edit the video." Ethans voice breaking the silence and his footsteps.
"We haven't even filmed it yet." Grayson piped up.
"Well then we better start."
"Bro, come back." Grayson said, but almost sounded like an order.
"Can't."
"Ethan!" Grayson stood and chased after him. I knew exactly what was happening from the harsh whispered and Ethan's whining. He didn't want to stay with me or even be within my presence and I get it. I wouldn't want to be around me after what I did.
I hurt him and I broke myself even more in the process. There was no taking it back. He hated me for it and I was okay with that.
Their bare feet slamming the floor knocked me out of my thoughts. They both sat back down and the silence continued.
"Wanna order some pizza?" Grayson asked.
"Yeah, get pineapple pizza and we can do it like old times." I said and he smiled.
"Gosh, I've missed you." He patted my shoulder slightly before leaving to get his phone I was guessing.
When he was clear out of my view I turned to Ethan.
"You don't have to be here if you don't want to." I told him.
"What do you mean?" He asked. His fingers scratching his shaven face. I noticed he also had more piercings on his ears.
"I know you don't wanna be around me and that's okay. You can go if you really don't wanna be here."
"First of all." He began raising his eyebrow at me. "I can do whatever I want and second, I'm here for the pizza and not for you."
Ouch.
"Good to know." I didn't look at him.
"Great."
"Super."

I giggled and shook my head looking at my phone screen. I had been texting Mohamed since the beginning of the day and his texts were so odd.
Mohamed:
I need you to teach me Quran
I know you're religious.Me:
Yeah me and my aunt
would love to help youMohamed:
Sorry I only do one on one sessionsI laughed again and screenshotted showing Sandra who sent me laughing face emojis.
Sandra:
Who even is this guy?Me:
Some guy from my class
He's nice and all and this is the first time we've actually talked properlyThat was true. Most of our conversations would be about assignments or little jokes about our college professors, never anything big.
A couple days later when I sat in my usual seat in lecture, Mohamed sat beside me like he usually did as well. I expected him to start a conversation or even say hello, but he said nothing.
Ignoring his existence, I copied down notes as the professor spoke and finally after about an hour and half later it was over. I collecting my things and and shoved them into my bag and got up to leave.
"Hey, Malika!" I heard him say as I was walking away.
"Hi." I said back with a little smile.
"How are you?"
"I'm good. What about you?"
"I'm fine alhamduliallah." He said and I nodded.
"What are you up to right now?" He asked and I raised an eyebrow.
"I was gonna go meet up with Mike. Why?"
"No reason, have a good day." He said and began to walk in the other direction. He left me there confused.
I hated it when guys never said that they were thinking. It boiled my blood. If he wanted to ask me to hang out with him he should've just asked rather than brushing it off.
I walked to the spot where I was meeting mike and he was sat on the bench on his phone. He then saw me and got up and opened his arms for me and I accepted the hug, I didn't realise how much I needed it.
"What's up?" He asked scanning my facial expression.
"I don't know something weird happened." I said before telling him what had just occurred.
"Malika!" He grabbed my arms and shook me.
"What?"
"He wanted to ask you out!"
"Well good thing he didn't." I said lifting myself off the bench and heading to Mike's car.
"Why would you reject him? He's musl-" he began and I already cut him off.
"That doesn't mean we're gonna be perfect for each other!"
"Well at least give him a chance, he doesn't seem like a bad guy." He said once we got into his car.
"Okay, fine. If he turns out to be like every other guy, then what?" I looked at him.
"What do you mean every other guy, you reject every guy before they can even get a word out to you."
"That's true." I giggled. "But seriously, I'll give him a chance, let's pray he isn't terrible and like all these other horny college guys out here."
