Blood Diamonds: Chapter 26

~1 Month Later~
~Travie P.O.V.~

It's officially the first day of summer and I can't explain how nice it is to be able to wake up at 1 in the afternoon without a damn care in the world.

"Baby wake up." I heard the sweet sound slide through my ears.

"What time is it?" I asked with a yawn as I turned over to grab my phone off the nightstand.

"It's just barely past noon. You were sleeping for a long time and I was lonely." She said as she climbed on me.

"Let me get all cleaned up and we can do something today." I tapped her outer thigh, indicating for her to get off. She slid off and walked out of the room while I walked to the bathroom. I started the shower and as it was warming up, I splashed cold water on my face and next to wake me up a little more.

"So what should we do today? I wanna go swimming since it's nearly 100 degrees out." She said as she played with the curls that bordered her face.

"Wanna go up to the lake? The pool'll probably be mad packed." I said as I was fiddling with my keys. The lake may have some people there but not as much as the pool.

"Alright, can we stop by my house so I can get my bathing suit?" I nodded my head and held the door open for her. "Do I turn left at the first or second stop?" I asked as we hopped in my whip.

"Second." I nodded my head and pulled out of the driveway, heading straight to her house.

"I'll be right back." She said as she hopped out and headed inside. I cut the engine and pulled out my phone. I saw I had a text from Dontario.

1:53 p.m. -Dontario: Aye bro wanna chill?

2:01 p.m. -Me: Nah I got plans w/ Destiny

2:02 p.m. -Dontario: oh shit you're back with her?

2:02 p.m. -Me: yup. Been together for about 3 weeks

2:03 p.m. -Dontario: aight, hmu whenever you're down to chill

2:04 p.m. -Me: aight peace

"You good?" I asked once Destiny hopped in. She nodded her head and pulled her seat belt across her chest.

I know. Why would I get back with my ex? 'Cause I can, that's why. It's safe to say I'm holding onto the feelings I had for Charnae. It's something I can't let go of, you know? I've tried to but in the end, I just couldn't.

Onto another topic, what's up with Yvette? Well she miscarried about 2 and a half weeks ago. I don't know what caused her to miscarry but all I know is, all chances of me being a father are out the window. It gave me a bitter sweet feeling. The sweet part being the child is in a better safer place than here and the bitter part being- well you know.

"Do you expect to see anyone that we know?" She asked as she ran her hands through her hair. We were just about a few minutes away and I couldn't wait to lay out by the shallow water.

"Not really but you never know." I pulled into a parking spot and cut the engine. Destiny hopped out and I pulled my phone off the car charger. "Go find a spot, I'm gonna get us something to drink." I tossed her the towels and she went off her way, while I headed to the little shop.

I walked in and felt the cool rush of the AC hit against my skin, causing goosebumps to appear along the surface of my skin.
