Blood Diamonds: Chapter 28

~Joel P.O.V.~

"So how do you feel?" I asked as she looked at herself in the mirror.

"I feel really sore but I love it." She said with a smile.

"It looks really red, not just the red roses but your skin around it." I liked she had red and white roses and not just one color.

"Yeah, oh well."

"Go get dressed so we can go." So I decided not to take her on a huge date or anything since her skin looks mad irritated. I figured we could just do something at home and in a few days I'll take her out somewhere nice.

"I'm ready." She said after a few minutes.

We said bye to my friends at the shop and headed straight for home. Her whole side was bandaged up and I thought that was kinda funny.

"So what are we gonna do?" She asked once we got home.

"We're gonna make cupcakes cause I feel like something sweet." I said as I started digging through the cupboards for some kind of cupcake mix.

"Cupcakes?"

"Yup. We're gonna make 'em together."

"I'm gonna change into something looser."

"Just come down in pants and a bra and call it a day." I wouldn't mind her looking like that while we were baking.

"Joel no!" She yelled. So we were just messing around and some batter got on us and shortly after so did frosting. "You got it on me."

"Come here and I'll lick it off." She had some right on her neck and I do love frosting.

"Ew-"

"Ew? You're trippin' but I got no problem licking it off." I finally had her in my arms so she can't go anywhere now. I set her on the counter and kissed her frosting coated lips. "You're so sweet." I laughed.

"That's what you said on my birthday-"

"That's a different kind of sweet but yes you're sweet in that sense too." I left her lips and slowly licked the smear of frosting off her neck followed by a trail of kisses. The oven beeped so, sadly I had to pull away from her to get the cupcakes out.

"What flavor anyways?" She asked as she licked the batter off the side of her hand.

"Raspberry why?"

"Just wondering. I'm gonna finish filling the piping bags." I nodded my head and focused back on putting the cupcakes on the cooling racks. I liked to bake and cook because it brought back memories of when I was really little and I was always in the kitchen with Mom or the aunts.

Right now we were in the backyard cuddled up by the fire pit with a blanket over us, eating the cupcakes.

"I like this better than going out." Charnae said as she rested her head against my chest.

"Yeah me too." I said before I kissed her forehead. I felt like I was in nothing but a complete bliss of happiness.

"What do you imagine the future being like?" She asked me as she rubbed along my chest.

"I imagine myself proposing to you, we get married, settle in a house, and start a family then we grow old together." That was what I saw for my future. I don't know when my future idea would start but that's what I looked forward to.
