Blood Diamonds: Chapter 27
~Charnae P.O.V.~
"Travie why would you ask that?" I asked.
"Because I want to know your answer. I know my mistakes and I wanted to know if you ever thought there could be another possibility for an us again?" I just sat there. I wasn't sure what to say to that. "Charnae?" The sound of his voice had an echoing affect in my ears.
"Travie what we had is in the past. I'm just going to leave it at that." I said as I put the key in the ignition.
"We'll never be what we were? We'll never be cuddled up into each other talking about our future like before? Back when we had nothing but complete trust in each other, before all the nonsense?" You know how you'll always have those last remaining bits if feelings for that one person? I have those and I felt like everything he just said tore my heart in two.
I wanted to just cry. That surfaced all the good times we had. I had spent a good amount of time but those memories off to the side and now they broke loose in my mind.
"I know you sometimes think about it too." He said.
"I don't think about us and what we were. I only think about us in terms as the friendship we now have."
"You don't?" I shook my head.
"I need to go. Bye Travie." I put my car in reverse and backed out of his driveway before he could squeeze in another word.
I don't understand why he would say all of that? What overcame him to even as much as think about that? If that's how he's feeling, then that's on him.
I pulled up to a red light and let out a deep breath to try to calm my mind. Right now a mix of emotions were just cluttering my brain. Talk about a mind trick.

"I'm back." I said as I walked inside Joel's house. It smelled like he barbecued hamburgers.
"How's Ol' Travie?" He asked with a small laugh as he wrapped his arms around me from behind. He slipped his hands under my shirt so his hands rested happily on my bare stomach.
"He's alright." I didn't really wanna talk about what happened. "We had small talk and then split ways." Which is true because that is what happened, without the nonsense that made it all weird.
"That's good at least." He kissed right along my neck. "You ready for your other session tomorrow?" I'm glad he changed the subject.
"Yup. I can't wait to get color added. It's boring with it just being black and outlined."
"How did Marquez react when he saw it?"
"He thought it was fake but when I told him it wasn't, he turned pale as a ghost." Marquez doesn't like the fact I have tattoos simply because he thinks I'm addicted to them. Which I'm not. After this, I'm done but he believes otherwise.
"Poor Marquez. I'd probably turn pale too if my little sister came home with a huge ass tattoo like that." He laughed as he let me go.
"What was your first tattoo?" I asked as I sat at the bar counter.
"The "IRG" behind my ear."
"What did your parents say when they saw it?"
"My Mom freaked out because I was so young and my Dad took me to get it so he was chill with it." I remember seeing "IRG" on the same side behind everyone's ears, aside from the girls. Well Ivanna and Natalia have it too.
"I wanna get it too." I laughed as he brought me a plate.
"Oh my God Charnae. You're really gonna get "IRG" tattooed behind your ear? Stick with your roses." I just rolled my eyes and focused on eating.
