Blood Diamonds: Chapter 13

~Sunday~

~Joel P.O.V.~

So I was just up in Oakland visiting my parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Well I have a cousin who's the same age as me we're just months apart but her name is Natalia. She wanted to come down for like a week or two and kick it with me and my friends. I thought she'd like Charnae since they're both pretty much the same.

My Dad was in a gang and up in Oakland he was part of the best gang that town had to offer. I was apart of it too, I just didn't go around saying I was.

"So what am I going to do while you're at school?" Natalia asked as she looked out the window. There wasn't much to see but hills, crops, and occasional gas stations.

"Well Mookie is down here." I said with a laugh. She hit my arm but laughed too. Mookie was her friend she met last time she was down here but she calls him Mookie because she kept forgetting his name.

"Does he know I'm down here?"

"I already told him before we left your Dad's house. He's happy he'll get to see you. Its been like 3 months since you was down here." I was more excited to kick it with Charnae. I don't actually like her to where I'd wanna make her mine, but I like her to where I wanna be her friend, ya feel?

"Aww ! I want Daddy to come meet Mookie one day. I'm sure he'd love him." She laughed

"Your Dad would murder him if he saw Mookie put his arm around you. I would hold off on them meeting till your Dad is on his death bed."

"Alright call me when you want me to take you home." I said before Natalia hopped out. I saw Mookie walking up the drive with a huge smile.

"Alright I will ! Bye Joel !" She closed the door and ran into Mookie's open arms. It was cute how they were with each other, anyways I needed to hit up Charnae right quick.

2:46 p.m. Me- aye girl whats up?

2:48 p.m. Charnae- Hey Joel. Nothing much, you?

2:49 p.m. Me- just got back, still wanna chill ?

2:50 p.m. Charnae- of course ! Can you pick me up though ? My brother needed my car today :/

2:51 p.m. Me- I was gon' pick you up either way lol where are you by ?

2:52 p.m. Charnae- I live in that court just off the roundabout where the apartments are :)

2:53 p.m. Me- Aight, on the way

I made a U turn and sped down the street making my way to her place.

I was outside her apartment when I saw Travie walking out of her place with a smile on his face. I couldn't see Charnae because she was still inside but I decided to just wait in the car till Travie got back to his car. Maybe they worked their shit out ? If that was the case then I sure as hell ain't gon' get involved in all that. Knowing how Travie is, I know better than to get involved in his nonsense. 

~Charnae P.O.V.~
~Hours Later~

I was waiting for hours. Was he lost ? The apartments are very easy to see and it's off the only roundabout that's on this side of the bridge. I tried calling and texting Joel but got no answer.

Travie came over earlier to talk things out but I put him right out once he started to raise his voice at me. I don't even know how he got my address, unless it was when Sonya came over and had to give directions for Travie to pick her up.
