Chapter 5
I woke up smiling next to Alecs in the morning. I found it cute that we were doing a lot of cute couple stuff. Its been a while since we actually did more stuff then have sex, and that was only once in a while. On an intellectual level I hardly knew his favorite color anymore. It used to be blue.. last year. I guess favorite colors don't change to often though. I hopped out of bed quietly and went to the bathroom. I checked myself in the mirror for any big faults. I didn't usually have bed head but your never to safe. I washed my face and brushed my teeth then went to the livingroom after grabbing my phone out the room. Everyone in the house was still asleep so I decided to make myself a bowl of “Lucky Charms” and sit out by the pool in one of Alecs' t-shirts. It was so nice out and I loved the quiet. I checked my phone for the time, it was 8:23. I looked at the sun burning light everywhere and took it all in. I took a bite of my “Lucky Charms” and dipped my feet into the cool water. After about 10 minutes of not paying attention I took another bite of my cereal which was now soggy. I scrunched my face up in disgust as I found this out. I got up and went back inside to the kitchen leaving little wet footprints behind me. I placed my bowl on the table and went to the cabinet for a glass. I opened the fridge and grabbed the apple juice out I closed the fridge to see Imani approaching me. I sat at the fridge and waited for her.
Cali: Hey Im-
she came up to me and knocked the glass out of my hand causing it to shatter and I jumped back as a reaction.
Cali: What the absolute hell Imani!
Imani: Why'd you tell Hylind I went out with Ayden yesterday?
Cali: that's why you just tried to split my foot open with a glass!?
Imani's tone remained calm but the look on her face was upset and irritated.
Imani: Why Cali?
Cali: Was It really a big deal? Everyone already knew.
Imani: Yeah everyone but Hylind.
Cali: Well maybe you shouldn't be sneaking around with other peoples ex's Imani.
Imani's face went blank and she was no longer angry. She sat don't in a chair and put her head down in shame.
Imani: I was going to tell her, I just wanted to be the one to do it. I'm sorry Cal I didn't mean to go psycho on you.
She said really soft and apologetic like parents do after they yell at you and feel really bad.
Cali: It's cool, just help me clean this up.
She got up and I handed her the dustpan and I started sweeping the glass into it.
Cali: Hey psycho..
Imani: Yeah?
Cali: Ayden shouldn't have asked you out in the first place.
Imani: Is it wrong that I said yes?
Cali: That's a question to ask yourself. Not me, I'm not Dr. Phil and I sure ain't Oprah but I'm serious on that one.
It got quiet and I swept the last of the glass into the dustpan. Imani put the cleaning supplies away and we sat down at the table.
Cali: Hey what did you think was going on with Ariella and Jai last night?
Imani: You already know what I think why?
Cali: Do you think that shes acting out because the way I made her feel the other night? Like a little kid?
Imani: Cali, I'm not Dr. Phil and I sure ain't Oprah but not everything is about you.
