"Asuka! Stay where I can see you!" I could hardly hear her say, "M'kay!" Juvia and I decided it was a good idea to take Storm, Asuka and Nashi out to the park for a little while. The park is just down the street from the guild hall, the lake backs up to the hall and the park, and it's really pretty to watch the sun glisten onto the water. Juvia rocked Storm on her hip, Nashi could barely walk, and Storm could only crawl. I sighed, "How can someone how can barley walk, tire me out so quickly?" I asked no one in particular. JUvia laughed, "I have no idea, but I hear it get's worse when they're teens." I groaned jokingly, "That's gonna be so much fun..." sarcasm dripping from my voice.
I could see the two girls playing in the sand. I loved Nashi, with all my heart. But sometimes I wonder if I should have waited a bit longer before having any kids. At the time, Natsu and I barely had enough money to scrape by, add another mouth to feed and what do you get? Nothing good! Ii mean seriously, what was I thin-- Sorry, I got a little riled up for a second... But anyway, Nashi is the most precious thing to me, that will never change. No matter how mad I may get.
~~~~Time Skip, 10 months~~~~
Ten months ago, they're was a total of two babies in Fairy Tail, and starting today, there are four. Four beautiful, healthy babies. Two boys, two girls. It's an amazing feeling to be able to watch people grow up. I thought it was over once my friends and I grew up. But I guess that's not true. I love every second of it, from the tantrums, to the first words and steps. I was so happy when Mirajane had Nova Dreyar, one it's another girl!!! And two, Mirajane has always helped take care of Nashi, so I'm happy she finally had her own baby. But that was nothing to how ecstatic I was when my best friend in the whole world had her own little boy! Gale looks so much like his dad, Gajeel, it's a little scary.
Now, onto something else. How about the fact that I think Erza wants to be apart if this whole baby business. You can see it all over her face when she saw the babies. Not to mention she was always up to babysit. (Though she isn't very good at it...) But the funny part was, that Jellal was completely oblivious to that fact. It might take him a little while to finally figure it out. Or maybe he does know and doesn't want kids? I doubt that, he really likes Nashi. But then again, he's still kinda sorta a wanted criminal...? So I guess that's a bit of a deal breaker.
But now I have a story that makes me laugh everytime. A few weeks ago Natsu and I went on a job, just the two of us, on a very short notice. Mirajane was working, everyone else seemed to have their own lives going on, and I had just called Aries to babysit a few days before. Time runs much slower in the spirit world, I don't want to bother her again. So at a complete loss, I called on a friend of mine that had grown closer to me over the years. Also the only other celestial spirit mage in a guild. Yukino Agria, but she had quit the adventure, as she tells me....
~~~~Yukino's POV~~~~
"So uh... How exactly do you babysit??" Sting walked beside me on our way to Lucy and Natsu's house. His hands were up behind his head and Lector led the way. "Whad'ya mean? It's just a baby! What trouble can it do??" Lector criticized Sting. I giggled, "You don't know much about babies do you?" I asked. Both of them looked like the were just caught in the middle of some terrible act. "Well uh...." Sting tried to cover it up, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly. I've seen him play this game with Rouge and Minerva before, "So why exactly are you two coming with me, to babysit??" Sting turned slightly red.
"STING'S SNEAKING AWAY SO HE DOESN'T HAVE TO DO WORK!!!" Lector pointed to him and ratted him out. "LECTOR!" I laughed . The two of them started bickering. "Come on you guys! Were already here!" I said, rounding the corner to the house. Once we reached the house Sting knocked on the door and the two of them stopped fighting. The door pulled open. "Hey!" Lucy hugged me and pulled me inside. Sting and Lector followed. "Thank you so so much for coming. I should've called you before but, we got a call for a job and couldn't deny."I smiled, I've never seen her so flustered. "It's fine I really don't mind." Lucy sighed. "I see you had some followers." She added glancing at Sting and Lector. The fact that Sting almost knocked over the coat rack, and scrambled to set it back up. Pretending no one noticed made me mentally groan. "Well, don't let Natsu see him, or I'll never hear the end of it." like on cue, Natsu and Happy came into the hallway. "Let's go-- why the hell is he here?"
"Natsu~Nii! How's it going!?" Sting wrapped his arm over Natsu's shoulders. "Natsu! Don't be rude. Sting is going to babysit with Yukino." Natsu seemed to look at him and think about it. Sting didn't seemed fazed at all. "Fine. Just don't touch my daughter." Natsu said sternly to Sting. He put his hands in the air innocently "Got it!" Lucy sighed and shook her head, smiling back at me. "Come on Natsu! They can handle it." She grabbed his hand and pulled him out the door. Last second, Natsu handed me an envelope and winked, I nodded.
"What just happened?" Sting pointed at the envelope and then to the door they walked out of. "Natsu is paying me extra to babysit late so he can take Lucy on a date." I said simply and put the money in my pocket. Sting let out a sigh of relief. "Okay... good... " What did he think it was? Oh... okay I can see it now... I groaned. "Get your head out of the gutter Sting!" Lector scolded. I rolled my eyes and started upstairs. They followed. I cracked open the door to Nashi's bedroom. She was using the railing to hold her up and had a goofy smile on when we walked. "Hello!" I said and picked her up. Sting was looking around the room and said "wow... this room is like the size of my apartment...." I laughed. "Here," I said holding Nashi out to him.
He shook his head, putting his hands up in defense, "No way! You heard him. I'm not aloud to even touch her!" I shook my head. "I'm sure Natsu~San was just joking. Now hold the baby. Unless of course, you'd rather I call Rouge so he can take you back to Sabertooth?" Sting went white as a ghost. "Okay I'll hold the baby...." I handed him the baby, he held her like she was some gross foreign object he wanted nothing to do with. "Don't hold her like that! You'll drop her!" I warned. "Then how am I supposed to hold her!?" He yelled. I stepped a bit closer to him and turned Nashi around, so she was facing him. "Always have her facing you, it makes her feel safer. Then hold her above your hip."
I guided his hand underneath her, and Nashi smiled big. "How do you know all this?" Sting raised an eyebrow, seemingly amazed by what I had just showed him. I couldn't help but think that that look on his face, didn't make him look like an immature jerk, but rather just a young man who had a lot to learn. But i had to admit, I didn't really know, I raised myself.... I had no one to teach me, "Instinct, I guess. Or common sense." I said. Lector snickered, I had forgotten he was there. "Common sense... Sting doesn't have that!" Sting retorted something back loudly. "Sting! Don't be so loud! You're scaring her!" I scolded as Nashi's eyes filled with tears. "Ahhh! What do I do!?" Sting freaked out, having no idea how to deal with a crying baby. And that was basically what the entire night was like.
