The Beast Has Been Released (Book 2)

Chapter 7

I looked at the clock only one more hour left until I get to go back to Harley's house. Dominic wasn't at work today. He called in sick.

Normally, I'm alone in the cafe when Dominic is not here. I don't really talk to the workers that much.

Wiping a table down the doorbell ring, meaning someone walked in, I get done cleaning the table and grabbed my note pad out of my apron. I looked up to see Riker standing there already looking at me.

I gulped and walked up to him. "Hi, my name is Artemis, please come this way. Booth or table?"

I asked in a sweet and soft voice. "Booth with be fine, thanks." I nod my head and lead him to a Booth.

"Now, what can I start you off with?" I asked. "I will have a beer and a double cheeseburger with fries." I wrote everything down on my notepad.

"Okay, I will be back with your order." As I went to walk away, he grabs my arm pulling me back. Flack back to when Reyes had me on his lap and gripping me. Fear runs through me, making me flinch.

Riker must have noticed and sends me a concern look. "Sorry, but... err it was nice seeing you again." I nod because, I didn't have the voice right now to speak.

He let's go of my arm and I made my way into the kitchen handing the chefs the order. 

I made my way out of the kitchen and went up to the cash register. I look around the room, the room was quiet with very few people here. I look over to Riker. He was typing on his phone.

He's not bad looking at all, but it's weird that he has the, almost the same facial features as Reyes. Maybe they're brothers. Nah... Yeah, no. I just need to stop thinking about him and move on.

The doorbell rings again. I looked up and smiled. "Hey, princess!" I said as Amber walks in with Felicity. I felt eyes on me, but I didn't care to look.

"She was crying for her mommy," Amber said bouncing her a little.

I pouted. "Awe...hand her here." Amber smiles and hands Felicity over to me. "Did you miss mommy?" She nods and wraps her arms around my neck.

I looked over to Riker and see that he's already staring right back at me. He gets up and slowly walks up to me.

I tensed. "Hey, kiddo, mommy's got to go to work. Do you want to stay and hang out with me?"

"I don't think-" I started. "WES!" Felicity screamed in my ear, nodding her head repeatedly. Just because I said she doesn't talk much. Didn't mean she never knew how to talk. She can say some words like "Mama, baba, Hi, Wes (Yes), booby, and no."

Riker and Amber chuckled, and I sighed. "I do have to go back to work."

"So, is that a, yes?" Riker asked. I nodded my head and hand her to him. "You hurt a single hair on my princess or teach her things that shouldn't be taught I will beat you to a pulp. Got it?" I growled whispered in his ear so that Felicity didn't here.

He nods. "I wouldn't do such thing to her. I will treat her like she is my niece." He smirked.

When he said that, I felt a wave of fear run through my body, maybe it's nothing. I have nothing to worry about, Reyes is gone for good! I glared at him as a warning not to hurt her, then looked at Felicity. "You be good and holler for me if you need anything." She nods and giggles.

He walks back to his table and sits Felicity on his lap and talks to her.

Amber and I walk up to the counter. "Who is that hot hunk?" She asked her eyes wide.

"That's Riker," I said keeping an eye out on him. Felicity was giggling at something he said.

"He's good looking. Maybe he will be your next husband." She said smirking.

I choke on my spit and go into a coughing fit. "No! Not happening." I looked over to Riker and he was staring at me with a smirk.

"Then can I have him?"

Riker left three hours ago. Amber and City left 20 minutes ago, and I was stuck being alone again.

When my shift was over. I went to Domino's Pizza (A/N: Gotta love their pizza. Raise your hand in the comments if you love domino's)

I waited 20 minutes until the pizza was ready then jumped in my car and went home.

I pulled into the driveway and shut the car off and got out with my purse, the pizza, and my keys and walked up to the door.

I carefully unlocked the door and walked in, "Guys! I'm home." I walked over and set the pizza on the table. "Harley! Amber! Felicity?!"

I started to panic and looked everywhere for them. "Guys! Not funny you are really scaring me." Then, I heard a rattling noise in the closet.

I slowly walk over to the closet and slowly turn the doorknob. The door burst open. "BOO!" Harley, Amber, Felicity came out. I looked at them glaring.

"What?" Amber asked innocently. I ignored her and walked away. "Oh, come on. We were only playing." Harley said. I stopped and turned, making Harley, almost run into me.

"That's why you guys don't get to have pizza tonight. I'm going to eat it all." I said with sass in my tone.

Harley raises an eyebrow. "Art, you know you can't finish all that pizza. You can't even finish the first slice." I rolled my eyes. "Yes, I can." I pouted. "Has she been feed like she was supposed too?"

"Yeah, sure and yes, mama bear." I raised my arms up in a surrendering way. "Okay, okay you got me. Now, go eat before I do."

Amber hands me Felicity and her and Harley both run out into the kitchen. Probably fighting over the biggest slice.

I take Felicity upstairs and walk into the bathroom. I turned on the light and sit her on the floor. I fill the tub up with warm water and strip out of me and Felicity's clothes.

I look in the mirror. I almost forgot the tattoo that was on my back. I just didn't have the money or time to remove it. I also heard that the pain off removing it is worst then getting the tattoo done itself.

So, he really did put a claim on me. He marked me as his and that's something that's not going to go away. It's impossible. Sadly, I know it's impossible to keep him away from. Every time, I push he pulls. 

I picked Felicity up and set down in the tub with her. I grabbed the baby shampoo and cleaned her hair.

She giggled and slapped her hands in the water making it splash. I chuckled.

I grabbed a rag and put baby soap on it and clean her little body. Then, I drained the water and dried Felicity and me before stepping out of the tub.

I put a diaper on her and put her PJ's on and walked out and put her in the crib. I gave her a pacifier and kissed her forehead. "Goodnight, sweetheart." I turn on a lullaby tune and she immediately fall asleep.

I walked back to the bathroom and took a shower. When, I was done I put my pj's on and went to bed.

I'm too tired to eat or say goodnight to Amber and Harley. They will understand.

I tried not to make Artemis so uptight when it comings to her friends. Riker need to back off, he's starting to make Artemis mad and Reyes is going to go bonkers when he finds out that her brother is talking to her at least Artemis is smart enough to stay clear of Riker.
