Chapter 8

Michael's POV

"Wake up! You have someone to see you." A guard said and walked off. Reyes growled.

"Fuck off." I rolled my eyes. "Dude, it's me." He gets up and runs to the bars. "Did you find her! Is she okay?" He asked panicking.

"She's fine." He relaxed. "Is she staying out of trouble? Is she being a good girl not interacting with guys?"

I sighed. "She had a husband." I was waiting for him to blow, but he never did.

"She had a husband?" I nodded.  "And what happened to this husband?"

"She left him. He was a dick to her; he would cheat on her and wouldn't take care of her and her da- I meant of her." Shit! I almost blew it.

"And her what, Michael?" He gritted out.

"And her dog," I said quickly. He raised an eyebrow. I smiled sheepishly. "Her dog? Why would he care for a dog? Unless you are not telling the truth."

I raised my arms up, surrendering. "Hey, I'm telling the truth." He rolls his eyes and walks over the bed and plops down on it letting out a sigh. "So, what are we going to do with Luke?" I asked.

"Start by killing his pathetic little gang-"

"I heard that he's got more people in his gang," I said cutting him off. He glared at me.

"I don't care if that asshat has more people in his shit gang. I told you to kill them." He growls out. I nod and make my way out the door but stops when Reyes talks.

"One more thing, Michael. Kill the husband of Kitten's and if you cut me off or lie to me again, I won't hesitate to kill you." He smirked and I walked out.

I got onto my bike and went to check on Artemis.

Artemis

This girl, I watch for two years, and I just couldn't help myself. I see what Reyes sees in her and isn't like any other girl out there. She's beautiful and feisty and that's what made Reyes attracted to her.

But sadly, she isn't mine and won't ever be mine. I've done many things that would get Reyes to kill me.

Like one day, I was watching her outside of her house and she just walked out of her bathroom with her towel. I just couldn't help myself, so I kept watching.

She drops her towel to the ground and walks to her dresser and pulls out underwear and a bra and slides them on slowly like she's giving me a show.

I turned my head and squeezed my eyes shut tightly and walk back to my car. I cursed at myself for being a stalker and for betraying my friend, not only a friend, my gang leader, and my boss.

Or like at the party, when we kissed. I felt that spark and I know she did too, even though she was kind of drunk. I was surprised that she came up and kissed me again before she left.

I am not going to lie. I don't really feel bad for her, but then I do. She shouldn't have stopped to see what was going on in that ally.

She shouldn't have been walking out at night, period and Reyes wouldn't have gotten to her.

But the main reason why I don't feel bad for her is that if she wouldn't have walked into that ally and met Reyes. Then, I wouldn't even have met her. Things would be different.

I pulled into her friend's driveway. I turned off my bike and walked up to her door and knocked on it.

Her friend... Amber, I think opened up the door. "Can I help you?" She asked.

I cleared my throat. "Um...yes is Artemis home?" She nods.

"ARTEMIS! SOMEONES AT THE DOOR." The Amber girl screamed make me cringe. I heard Artemis stomping down the stairs.

She came up to the door. "Amber, how many times do. I have to tell you. Not to scream when my kid is asleep." The beauty standing in front of me snaps at her friend.

"Sorry," Amber mumbled. She walked away leaving Artemis. Artemis looks over to me. "Yes, Michael?"

"I-I was wondering if you want to hang out?" Shit! I blew it. Stupid stuttering. I thought she was going to turn me down, but she smiled. "Yeah, sure." I smiled back.

"Let me get dressed up a little." She said as she was about to walk away, but I grabbed her arm. "No, no, you are fine looking like that we are only going to the movies. If that's alright with you?"

"Yeah, yeah it's fine will me, but I'm still going to need my phone, my bag, my-" She stopped and blushed when she catches me smirking at her. "Okay, I will just grab my stuff and will be right back."

She walks back inside. As I waited for her, my phone buzzed.

Bryan: Hey man, Reyes's brother just got out we are trying to track him down, but we can't find him anywhere.

Michael: Just... please, keep looking I'm on watch duty.

I turned off my phone when I hear Artemis stepping outside and shutting the door. "You good?" She asked. I blushed and nodded, making her smile.

Such a beautiful smile on a beautiful face.

I took her to the movies and watched Jumanji (Welcome to the Jungle) Man, I will tell you I've never seen this girl laugh so much. She even choked on her popcorn. I had to slap her back just to help her out.

Now, we ended up going out to eat. We ordered our food and got dessert. Talked about stupid things.

This date, I think... I don't know what to call it, but whatever it was, was the best nights I've ever had in a long time.

That's until Reyes's brother decided to show up. "Well, well, well. Look at what we have here."

I looked over to Artemis and her eyes were wide. 

"What would Reyes say about his best friend going out with his girl?"

SHIT!!!!

HI GUYS!  ITS BEEN A LING TIME... WELL... IT FELT LIKE IT. IVE BEEN IN FLORIDA ORLANDO AT DISNEY WITH MY CHOIR 👈👈👈 (IM IN CHOIR) AND BAND.  WE WON A SCHOOL REWARD AND MICKEY HATS. (THAT YET WE STILL NEED TO GET... Which might not, but YEAH) COMING BACK HOME TONIGHT. IT WAS NICE AND ALL GOING TO THE PARKS AND SEE DIFFERENT THINGS, BUT IM SO READY FOR HOME.
