Days had passed, and the routine of texting Holden had only become more and more prominent. I'd either wake up with a text from him, or wake up with the intention to text him. And, every night, I fell asleep texting him.

Whenever anything happened that I needed to vent about, he was my get away. Although we had only been talking for a week or so, I felt like we had almost reconnected entirely. I could tell him to fuck off one minute, and then we'd be talking about how much we appreciated each other the next.

It was just like when Holden and I were best friends, before anything happened between us.
