Lucy is given a gift for doing a solo job to go to a spa that has rumors of people meeting their other halfs but with strange consequences. Unknown to her, she didn't know the consequence that she would get would be so out of the ordinary.
We stood in the elevator of the doctor's office, waiting for it to move when Lucy started to speak.
"Shu"
"What is it?"
"I will have to go back to Crocus soon right? I mean the mission is finished. Your grades are back up and I have helped you with your request as well." I arched a brow. Did she really think of leaving now? If anything my father would want to know the gender. I know it had been almost eight months now but he still didn't know. I shook my head. I shouldn't be caring about that but dammit I couldn't let her leave. "Shu?"
"Did you really think I would let you leave so fast?"
"But my guild-"
"Knows that you have a job to finish. Do you remember what you told me before?"
"I told you a lot of things."
"That family is someone who would care for you, protect you, and love you no matter what."
"I know but we are not a family-" I arched a brow making her pause. "Are we?"
"You are expecting twins, so I have no choice." Her eyes widened as I moved my face closer to her's. "If you leave he will make me go through the whole process again and like I said before. I prefer you instead of another woman." She put her hands on my chest as she tried to put some space in between us.
"I understand Shu but-" I grabbed her hands and pulled her even closer.
" I am pretty sure our daughters would wonder who was their father." She looked down with a faint blush forming on her face.
"Yeah but-" I lifted up her face to make her look at me in my eyes.
"Were you thinking of having one of your friends act like a father figure to them?" The blush on her face grew.
"N..N...No" Why did she blush even harder? She turned her face away from me. "I will not leave if it makes you happy. " Those words stuck in my mind. She sounded so depressed about the fact that she couldn't leave.
I knew she wanted to go back but I didn't want her to leave and get placed with another woman. Based on the way Ayato had started to act when Yui had been taken away, I worried if I would have acted the same. It's not like I like her or anything. I just didn't want her to go.
