Chapter 18: Connected

A/n: Well, like I said, I will be continuing this! Forgive me if this chapter is short! Like as requested, this is a Kaori x Kousei.

Two days passed after Miyazono Kaori joined Kousei in his school, Kousei slowly became happy once again and his world didn't totally fall into chaos. Kousei still kept on playing the piano even it reminds him of Aquina. Even so, Kaori can still figure it out that because of the three years that she wasn't with him, she doesn't know if Kousei will feel the same love he felt for her when he was still fourteen years old. She was only with him for a year while Princess Aquina was with him for three years. They were in the music room of his family's mansion when she asked him, "Are you still hurt? I shouldn't be asking you to like me immediately. You just lost Princess Aquina."

Kousei stopped playing. "My family wants you for me. My dad warned me that I can't make you wait or else I'd lose you, too. If you leave, it will break me more. Stay with me, Kaori."

Kaori stared back at him and cried so much. "I really felt guilt when we knew that you had an accident! It hurt me more when I learned that someone wanted to kill you!"

He patted her back. "I have already remembered you. Besides, it hurt me to see Aquina pass away in front of me when I was thinking of breaking up with her and returning back to you."

Kaori was absolutely shocked to know that Kousei truly wishes to love her back. Kousei held her cheeks and kissed her. Kaori did the same thing. Soon, the sweet kiss on their lips began so passionate that they connected their tongues together. He held her in front of him while they are both sitting on his piano stool so that she won't fall over while Kaori held on her chest. 

The kiss they were having is definitely a very important one as both of them had missed each other so much. He must have forgotten her and fell in love with someone else but fate still brought them together. While they are on their very passionate kiss, they could both feel so connected. He hugged her tight and Kaori put her arms on his back. She's happy that he is with her once again and she vowed to never leave him ever again. 

What they didn't know, Prince Izumi accidentally opened the door slightly and he had witnessed how he passionately kiss Miyazono Kaori. It hurt him so much that his daughter's ex-boyfriend is with another girl with only weeks after her death. 

His daughter had just died recently and he's already flirting with someone else. He closed the door until he was found by Arima Saki who's wearing a pink flowery kimono. "What are you doing near my son's room?" 

"I just want to say goodbye to Kousei but I came in at a wrong time," he told her. "He's moving on and I don't know if I should be happy for him that he's moving on to another woman so quickly."

Saki stared back at the blue door of the music room. "Seto Hiroko had told me all about Kaori. Fate wanted them to be together. It's all thanks to your daughter that he was able to be happy when he had amnesia."

"Kousei's moving on while I'm stuck. It hurts me to see him kiss a girl that is not my daughter but...," Prince Izumi told her. "I cannot stay in the past forever. Most of all, my wife and I are expecting new kids. I have to stay strong for them, right?"

Izumi walked away and soon, he waved goodbye.

After Kousei and Kaori kiss each other, Kousei confessed to her, "I still love you very much, Kaori."

Kaori said the same thing, "I love you, Arima Kousei!"

Back at school, Emi Igawa and Aiza Takeshi had noticed that ever since Miyazono Kaori entered the school with him, he slowly returned back to who he was normally. Most of all, he became happier than before. He's happy and very much thankful for the life that was given to him. Even so, they're careful not to say Aquina's name in front of him. Kaori was careful enough not to say anything about Aquina if it's not him who's bringing it into the conversation. Since Kaori's a violinist and Kousei's a pianist, he goes alone in their piano major subjects in high school.

Luckily, he's accompanied with Izanagi and Mina in their piano classes. Both of them had also noticed that there was a huge change on him after Kaori chose to be with him once again. A month after he was discharged from the hospital, for Kousei and Kaori, everything went back the same as before. They play their music together in the mansion's music room and even at school like before.

Tsubaki had also learned to accept the truth that Kousei will never be able to like her even if she had already confessed to him before. She also believes that Kousei could have forgotten about it, too. That day, they're watching Kousei and Kaori practice their music. They really seemed connected once again. Of course, whenever Kousei looks back at her, Kaori turns so red since she remembers that Kousei kissed her even if they're not officially a couple yet.

Watari Ryota had noticed it too. "Kaori, he's been courting you. When will the both of you officially become a couple?"

Both turned red.

"What's your plan, then?" Tsubaki asked them, "Both of you truly are good for each other. I have also heard that your father likes her for you."

"Is it really okay that we become a couple already?" Kousei asked her. "Aquina just died."

Tsubaki nodded. "I'm sure that Aquina will agree!"

Kousei began crying once again after hearing her name. He loves Kaori but now, loving her means so much more because Aquina wanted her for him. He knew that Aquina was afraid of losing him. He even wondered how Aquina will feel if ever she's still alive. "Can you be my girlfriend, Kaori?"

Kaori answered him, "I love you, Kousei! I will love you so much!"
