I got up the next morning and took a quick shower. I was giving myself a pep talk in the mirror as I was getting dressed and fixing my hair. I kept telling myself to just act like nothing happened, and it will all go back to the way it was. When I walked down stairs everyone else was already up. We greeted each other and Emily even spoke. When I made my way into the kitchen I exhaled, I was hoping I didn't ruin Thanksgiving and by the looks of it I hadn't.
Everyone was in their normal moods laughing and cutting up, neither of them acted like anything happened last night.
We were sitting at the table having our meal when someone knocked out the front door. Everyone looked at each other before Emily stood and walked to the door.
It was quiet in the kitchen until you heard Emily's voice, "Claire what are you doing here?"
At the mention of that name her parents jumped up quickly and I also followed. Standing at the door was a woman a little shorter than Emily with long red hair, she had what looked to be a pie in her hand. This was Emily's ex, this was the woman who beat her.
Edward stepped forward, "your not welcome here you need to leave."
The red head looked at Edward, "come on Edward don't be that way, I just wanted to come see my favorite girl and bring y'all this."
I looked at Emily who stood there looking like she had seen a ghost. Susan walked over to Claire taking the pie from her and throwing it in the yard. I watched a nerve twitch in Claire's face as her eyes finally locked on me. "Who the hell are you?"
I stepped up in front of Emily looking down at the red head, "I'm RJ, Emily's girlfriend and you must be the bitch ex."
Claire chuckled, and I could feel Emily move behind me more, she was scared and this pushed my adrenaline even more. "Well that didn't take long for you to find someone Emily, I always knew you were a slut."
Anger surged through my body, before anyone else could say or do anything, I football tackled her. We both rolled down the steps, trying to get the upper hand, which I of course one.
Edward had stopped Emily from stopping us, as I positioned myself above Claire, she covered her face and I just laughed.
I got off of her, "get up so I can kick your ass fair and square."
Claire scrambled to her feet and tried to run towards her car, I spun her around before colliding my fist into her nose. She fell back against my truck, and this time I punched her along the jaw dropping her to her knees.
I knelt down beside her, "how does it feel to be on the receiving end of an ass whooping?"
She looked up at me with blood dripping from my nose, "she was a good fuck and that's all she's good for."
I gritted my teeth, putting all my power behind one more punch. When it connected with the side of her jaw, she just fell and I knew I had knocked her out.
I heard Edwards voice, "okay RJ that's enough."
I stepped away from her as Emily ran passed me, and bent down to check on Claire.
"What the hell did you do to her RJ?"
I know my face was shocked along with Edwards and Susan's, as they watched their daughter try to comfort Claire.
I watched as she helped Claire up, and Emily was actually crying and she even apologized to the bitch. I wanted to yell and scream at her, but instead I just turned and walked away.
Once inside I headed straight for my room, and grabbed my bag. I didn't give a shit at the moment if it was Thanksgiving or not, I was going back home.
