"I will be back Sona, just wait for me," he said.
I nodded hoping he would, after all he was the ' heaven' I reached after I endured my 'hell'.
He smiled, kissed my forehead, and then my stomach saying," Wait for daddy."
A smile made its way on my face, happy that I was getting one thing I longed the most, a family.
He kissed me one more time and said, "My Sona, only mine."
"Your's Dev, only yours."

The snow glows white on the mountain tonight Not a footprint to be seen......
"Urghhh..." I got up to 'Let it go'. It's funny how I wake up to a song from a Disney movie. But considering my little bundle of joy who is tossing and turning next to me, it's not a surprise.
She buried her head in the pillow, kicking her legs in the air. Typical sign, she is about to get up, just like her father. Remembering a fully grown man like him, kicking his legs in the air, made me laugh. But i immediately stopped, remembering my dream. Since the day he left me, I have been having the same dream. It is so conflicting, the  dream gives me hope that  he will be back one day, but it also reminds me of the emptiness in our life.
Pulling me from my depressing world, my daughter hugged me, mumbling, 'goof mawnin'. Just like her father. She is the only reason I am still sane, she is the spitting image of him.

Smiling at my daughter, I hugged her back, saying, " Good morning, my dear muffin."

While, we were in our own bubble, my friend Swetcha barged into the room.
"Good morning, LAZY HEADS!" She yelled.  I closed my muffin's ear, to protect her eardrums.
"How many times do I have to tell you to not yell, Itcha?" I asked getting down from the bed.
"Come on, I was just waking you up."
"Tho loouudd, Secha pinni . Don't dho dhat." my daughter commanded with hands on her hips.
I just smiled at her antics and walked into washroom to freshen up, when I came back, I saw my best friend and daughter had shifted from tickling war to pillow fight.

Swetcha, has been my friend, since I was five. We have been living together in this house since she moved to Araku last year.
"Okayyy children, i wish to get to work. So, start your morning business ," I ordered.
Both of them pouted but got down from the bed.

Shaking my head, I walked into the kitchen, to prepare breakfast.
I finished preparing Chocolate Dosa, which was muffin's favourite. One of the few things she is inherited from me, her liking for chocolate.

Swetcha came to kitchen asking if I needed any help. She had worked all her life, it was time for her relax little before she gets burdened by her responsibilities. It is the same reason why I had given her less work at office.

LASYA CELEBRATIONS, started 4 years back. Dev and I started it. It was an event management company. I loved organising stuff. I was always the backstage and logistics person back in school too, so this was excellent career plan for me, when Dev came along, he gave me the strength and wings to my dreams, with his managing skills. Within few months of its beginning, our business boomed. The small town of Araku began to depend on us for every tiny celebration. After Dev had left, 4 years back, I did not change any of his ways, it was a burden, yes but I had help. When, Itcha came along, with her  ideas our business expanded. Our company has been organising few destination weddings for the people in Vishakapatanam.

After preparing breakfast, I went up to see that muffin was all set to go to school. Thank God, he has sent Swetcha into my life, I would have died every day with my workload.

Where are you Dev? You promised we will share all the responsibilities. You promised we will cherish every moment with muffin. I miss you terribly. Please come back. Am I desperate? Yes, I just cannot come to accept that my Dev would cheat on me. He cannot be treacherous, can he? No, no he is too sincere to be one.
Leaving my thoughts in the back of my mind, I smiled at my daughter. I packed her books, and walked her down the stairs, she is too clumsy while getting down the stairs, another trait from me.

As we walked, down the stairs, my daughter stopped on the last stair and asked me to pick her up. Which I gladly obliged. She kissed the photo frame which housed a snap of Dev and me. It was taken while we were searching for a place to build our company. I was so awestruck at the beauty, so I thought we will have a photo together. I was grinning at the photographer who in turn sighed and signaled that I look to my side. When I looked, I saw that Dev was staring at me, I was so lost in his eyes I forgot about the photo. That was when, the photo was clicked. When Dev saw the photo, he said that was the best he had ever been and he wanted it in our house.

"Come home, nana," My daughter said. This was every day routine to her. Ever since, she has started school, she has been asking for him. She loves listening stories about him and I. When she asked about her dad, I told her that he has gone to his parents and will come back soon. I wish he does!

Dropping my daughter at school, Swetcha and I made way to LASYA CELEBRATIONS. My office actually  not a big place, it's a double storey Hut styled house, which has four rooms on the ground floor. One for me, one for Swetcha. One of the room is for all the storage purpose  while others for all the discussion purpose. The hall is our waiting area. The first floor is where my staff works

As I entered, Babu Anna, our watch man saluted us, and then Veena, our receptionist, smiled at us, for which I nodded.
" Good morning Ma'am. I just received a call from Ms. Tridha, she would reach here by 4p.m. along with her fiance - to- be" She said.
I nodded.

For the rest of the day, me and my crew finished decorating the venue for the reception, tonight.

At around three, I went back to my cabin. Exactly at four, Veena called me to inform, Ms.Tridha, had arrived.
Not bad, The heiress, is on time.
As she entered, I got up to wish her. I extended my hand which she swat aside, giving me disgusted look. Of course, I would not be wearing a maxi    for my office unlike her. I was wearing a simple Kurta and legging which we get in the small clothe shops of Araku, with small investment  and average customers. She then saw my cabin and said,
"I told him that I would get the Top Organiser from Hyderabad, but no he had to encourage small entrepreneurs," with a huff.
Now he was interesting, while she was annoying.
Just before I could say something, Swetcha walked in.
"Oops! I did not know you had company, I will come back later," she said.
"No stay here, I need you," I said.
"Incompetent," she muttered.
Is it possible to hate a person, on few seconds after meeting him or her?

With raised eye, Swetcha stood next to me.
It was awkward!! For next few minutes, I did not talk much, Itcha asked her to sit down. When the tension was very thick, my cabin's door opened.
"Hey, babe why are you so late?" Tridha asked.
"I am here, aren't I?" he asked.
Then he looked at me and said, " Hi, I  am Adrith Vallabhaneni."
As his eyes met mine, The world stood still. Finally, I saw him. He kept his promise.
