"I hate him. I do," Swetcha said.

"Come on he can't be that bad," I said trying to control my laugh. I am so glad she is not here to see my face.

"He is. He is the epitome of 'irritation'. I just cannot stand him."

"Not everyone is good at English, Itcha. Spare him."

"He has been in the States for past few years. He cannot be this bad. He would not survive. I am telling you, he is just trying to irritate me."

I stopped my packing, sat on the bed,  put the pillow on my lap and rested my head on the propped up elbow.
"Aaannnd why would he do that?" I asked in a sing song way. Boy! I was so amused.

"I don't know. I wish I did." I could totally imagine her throwing her hands in the air. Dev walked out of his closet with his clothes. He dropped them on the bed and started putting them in the bag one after the other. I held his hand and pulled him on to the bed. I put my finger on his lips, and then put the phone on the speaker.

"Look, either you are exaggerating or over thinking," I said to aggrevate her.

"You don't believe me right, let me show you."

I could hear walking, and then her knocking on the door. Dev had raised his eyes, and I mouthed 'Swetcha and Siddanth."

I heard the door open and then, Itcha ask, "What are you doing Siddanth?" in a abnormally sweet voice.

"I anything doing not," he said. I burst out laughing at his exact telugu to English translation.
"Sid?" Dev asked with his eyes narrowed like slits.

"Can you help me with the cooking?"

"Me you help doing?" Siddanth asked.

"Why is he speaking like that?" Dev whisper asked.
I shrugged still laughing.  I felt great.  It was a like a revenge completed for all the times she stopped me mid-conversation to correct my grammar. Grammar freak. Why do I have only freaks in my life?

We heard their conversation for few minutes and then cut the call. I noticed that Dev was thinking something deeply. When I asked him about it, he said, "I am just thinking about Siddanth."

"What about him?"

"It's weird you know. He has too many degrees, not because he likes reading but because he hates working. I don't know how much his brother tried to get him to work, he did not budge. Now all of sudden he decided to expand his business in Araku. A new restaurant in Araku is clearly a good thing, but him thinking of it is strange. Then he stays in our house, when he can clearly afford to rent a place and hire a maid. On top of that he is irritating your friend. I have a feeling my dear stuck up rich best friend is smitten by your strict yet romantic best friend."

"Finally! she is about to kiss her first frog. Let's hope he turns out to be her Prince Charming."

I really hoped. But knowing Siddanth’s status, I doubt she will fall for him. We both hated rich people, and had decided to be far away from them. Had I known Dev was rich, I would have never let him come near me. But now I know better than to stereotype.

"For the first time, I am scared for my friend.  I still remember the threat she gave, your friend is scary," he said shuddering.

" She threatened you? What? How? Why?"

"Let's say, that it is our secret. Now pack."

It had been a week since the incident with Adhya happened. Dev had asked me to go back to work, and concentrate on my job. He wanted us to go on with our life like nothing ever happened, and wait for their next step, while he interrogated on the matter. So far he did not find anything. Cctv cameras did not record anything in regard to the phone. The Secretary and Chauffeur did not give out anything either. They just said, it was mistake and would not happen again.
