"I am sorry, I must have..."

"You okay?" Dev asked cutting my apology short.
I nodded.

I got up to see that I was asleep on Dev's hand, who was was sleeping in a weird manner. His upper back was on the headboard and lower back on the pillow. His head rested on my forehead. I tried to free myself from him slowly but him being a light sleeper, he woke up. I tried apologising which of course was not considered.

He sighed and said, "Good."

It has been so long since I have seen his 'i have just gotten up' face. His hair was all ruffled, giving him a cute look unlike his serious and calm look. He was rubbing his eyes, trying to open them completely and adjust to the light. His right cheek was red and had tiny line depressions, probably because of my hair. He held his right arm and flinched, he started rotating it while the other hand rubbed the back of his neck and then rotated it. Boy! I have caused him so much discomfort.

I held his left hand and gestured him to turn around. I slowly started massaging his neck, trying to relax his neck muscles. Thanks Mom and your physiotherapy lessons. Slowly, I felt him relax, and become floppy. After, few minutes, he jerked up, scared that I hurt him somewhere, I retracted my hand.
He turned back and said, "That was heavenly Manya but you were making me sleepy and I cannot afford that."
I nodded understanding.

Dev got up from the bed, stared at me, for a while. He then shook his head and walked to the closet, probably to take his clothes. What was that? Come to think of it, he did not ask me about previous night. Was he not supposed to force the nightmares out of me? But then, even in the past he did not force me to answer anything about my nightmares. Sighing, I got up and walked to the guest room, where I had my clothes.

On the way to the guest room, I saw Maan and Alya sitting on the couch. From where I was standing i could clearly see Maan and Alya partially. Maan had this bored expression, while Alya spoke something, animatedly, waving her hands all over the space available. Suddenly she stopped, I guess she realised he wasn't listening. And then she hit him, once, twice and then I lost count. Maan tried to block it, initially but later he held and started tickling her. Their laughter rung around the room. A small smile made its way on my face. They were so lovely together, and they were my family.

After I freshened up, I started searching for my daughter, who was playing with Sam. My daughter had become busy. Every single person in the family had booked an entire day with her. Today was Sammy and baby day, like Sam said.

As soon as my daughter saw me, she ran towards me and hugged me. She then proceeded to tell about her day. After she was done, she wanted to see her dad. So I held her hand walked to our room. Dev was sitting on the bed facing the headboard. I could here someone speaking. I guess he was on a videocall. Before I could tell my daughter to wait till the call was over, she had sprinted across the room and jumped on the bed. Dev turned to look at her. She immediately jumped on him. He moved a little back, hugging her with one hand, after he overcame his initial shock. I decided to grab her, but stopped. Dev adjusted her so that she was properly sitting on his left lap. He held her with his left hand, and apologised the person on call, and proceeded with their discussion. My daughter listened to what they talked intently before she rested her head on his chest. Dev was discussing and was softly combing her hair.

I walked out of the place, not wanting disturb them. I entered the kitchen and noticed my Attaya cooking. I put on the apron, hanging in the corner of the kitchen and decided to assist her.
"Good Morning," she said.
"Good morning."
She raised her eyebrows, and said, "Try again Kodalu Gaaru, I think you have left your sentence incomplete. "
I frowned at that. What did she mean by incomplete sen... "Oh! Good Morning, Attaya."
She smiled.
