She stood up on me again.

Is she getting late at office? But she would call me if she could not make it. But she did not answer her calls also. So I called Rakesh. Who did not answer his phone, either. I called home and asked Amma if they have reached home.  Is she safe? She better call me if she is busy. She is going to get a good lecture for not informing me. My forgetful workaholic wife!

I waited for a while before I called her office reception. They answered and said that she had left long back. That sacred me. I did not believe her office people so I went back and checked again.  She was not there. In fact the cctv footage showed that she left two hours back. Damn! Where is she?

I called home again, they said she has not reached home. So I searched in the venues where her functions are usually conducted but she was not there.

At around ten, I got a call from the hospital, saying that Rakesh was admitted in the hospital. They saw the employer's I.d and called me. My heart stopped. Not bothering about the traffic signals I rushed to the hospital. Rakesh was in the casualty with a bandage over the head. I waited till they treated him and cleared him.  I paid the hospital bills and then asked him what happened on the way back to his home. 

When he told me what happened, I lost the last bit of sanity I had. I immediately went to the police station and filed a complaint. I had to use some influence to get the complaint lodged because it was not 24 hours yet.

That night I could not sleep. My daughter kept asking for her mother and I did not have an answer. I promised myself that I would bring her back soon.

The next morning, the police interrogated me. They asked me about my enemies. The people I could think of  was Tridha, Meena, her boss, Kiran her ex-fiance. I fisted my hand when I thought of what she would be going through. God! Please save her.

For the rest of the day, we interrogated the trio. We met all of them in their office.

Meena, was shocked that we thought she was that in humane. She claimed that the relationship they shared was a straight boss and worker relationship  and they did not have anything personal.

Then we met Tridha, who was majorly hurt. She said, as much as she did not like that her engagement was cancelled, she did not have anything against Manya.

Kiran, just laughed and said, 'oh! so you could not protect her. She believed you, man. You let her down. Tsk. Tsk. She believed wrong man. What is the big difference between you and me? Both of us lost her'.
