Tell me if there are any mistakes, I didn't get to go over this one very well-

Bundled

She laid on the floor. Bundles and bundles of layers in clothing and sheets all wrapped around her body. She laid on the cold stone floor. But anything was better than the snow.

She began to feel her own eyes grow cold. But she tried her best to keep them open. Especially since it wasn't just some ordinary person who told her to do so. That person was known as Ash.

His black hair had dampened from the snow and slowly began to bite at the end of his ears and neck, but he paid no attention to that. Instead, he focused on the fire pit he was just about to set up.

Some twigs and planks of wood he had saved turned out to be way more worth it than Ash ever thought it would be.

Lighting it up with a simple match, a small flame began to grow.

Ash stood up from leaning down on his knees and walked over towards Serena, soon sitting himself down beside her and taking off his gloves. After he took them off, he placed a single hand onto her forehead.

Cold.

Not even the slightest bit of warm.

Serena stared at him, a little confused at first. Her mind was a little slow at the time, considering her entire body was shaking and turning into, well, basically a giant lollipop.

She tried speaking to him.

"A-Ash." Her voice was coarse.

"Don't try talking," he suggested as politely as he could, but also being as stern as he could. A weird mixture, but he somehow managed to pull it off.

He walked back over towards his backpack, beginning to scavenge through it like he just was a moment before. He took out a stuffed Pokémon and looked at it for a while, studying the Pokémon's beady eyes and the stitching that went across ear to ear.

Standing back up, he walked back over towards where he originally sat and handed the Pokémon to her. It was a Fennekin plushie.

"I was going to give it to you for Christmas... but I guess I'm not one for patience with you, Serena." He scratched the back of his head.

Serena took it in her hands and rubbed her thumb along the soft fabric. She smiled, causing a cut in her lip to form. She flinched.

"What's wrong?" He asked her immediately.

"Nothing, just cut my lip." She tried bringing her lip into her mouth to prevent it from becoming more dry.

"How?"

"I smiled."

Ash sat there confused. "You... smiled?"

She coughed before answering. "Yes, I smiled. My lips are dry."

"Oh." Ash leaned back against the rock wall. "Never had that happen to me before."

"Yeah, it's never happened to me before either." She set the Fennekin besides her and stared up at the dark ceiling. She could only hear the loud winds from outside the cave and the flickering fire that continued to grow inside at that moment.  She wanted to sleep so badly.

"This is my fault." Ash looked up at the ceiling with her.

Serena blinked softly as she lazily shook her head side to side. "No," she said meekly.
