I couldn't sleep, I didn't want to. It had been an hour since Adam went to talk to Blake and I was waiting in Blake's room. I got up and walked around the room, looking at everything in it. I stopped at his calendar and I looked at today's date, when I saw what day it was something clicked in my head.

How could I forget! Man I needed my phone! Why did it have to still be at Adam's? I looked outside and saw Adam's car parked outside near the window, I hope he doesn't kill me for this.

I opened Blake's bedroom window and jumped out, I couldn't go out the front door because it would pass the living room and I didn't want to disturb them. I ran barefoot to Adam's car, I let out a small yes when I saw he left the car keys in it. It's not like anyone would steal the car, besides me of course.

I jumped in and turned it on, I was dying to rev the engine but I waited till I was off Blake's property and then I let lose. I was having a blast speeding down the highway, singing along to Luke Bryan on the radio until I finally got to Adam's house.

I parked his car and took out the keys. I used the house key to get in, I ran up the stairs to our room. It was still the same as I left it, my clothes were on the floor, some on the bed. Nothing had moved an inch, I smiled and got into a sweatshirt that had my college name on it and some jeans. I grabbed my phone off the charger, I knew it. It was blown up with calls and texts from one person. I smiled as I read them all, I dialed the number.

"Finally! I've been worried sick about you! Did you move out of your apartment or something? You knew I was coming back from Australia and promised you'd pick me up from the airport! I had to ride in a smelly taxi because of you!" The person on the other line yelled.

I laughed, "I missed you too Cas, so much has happened in the months you were gone. I need you to come over, I'll text you my new address sis. And come over now. No exceptions. Love you." I told her and hung up, I texted her Adam's address.

Man she was going to be surprised. I went downstairs cause I heard Frankie barking and I knew she wanted to be let in. I bumped into someone as I jumped off the last stair.

"Jess!" I smiled, and jumped on him with a hug.

"Um, Eve? Right?" He didn't hug me back with the enthusiasm I expected.

"Yeah, it's me! Miss me?" I laughed.

"Um, I.." He stammered.

I got off him, "Jesse you okay?" I asked.

"They haven't told you?" He gave me a sad look.

"Told me what?" I asked.

He gave me an even sadder look, "When you were taken and I was knocked out, I lost my memory from about seven months. I can't remember anything after that." He said.

"So.. You don't remember anything about me? About us?" I asked, pained.

He shook his head. "I wish I did. I really do. I've tried everything!" He cried.

"Why wouldn't Blake or Adam tell me?" I asked.

"They probably didn't know how, don't get mad at them. They shouldn't have kept it from you, I agree, but they did it to protect you." He said.

"Whole lotta good that did." I mumbled as I let Frankie in.

"Where is Adam? How'd you get here?" He asked.

I laughed, "I jumped out the window and I stole his car. That baby goes fast."

He smiled, "I can see how we were best friends."

"Are. Are best friends. At least I hope." I looked at him.

"Course, I may not remember but maybe someday I will. Till then we can make new memories." He smiled.

I nodded, "Sounds like a plan, Jess Monkey."

"Was that honestly one of my nicknames?" He asked.

I laughed, "Yeah, but only I could call you it. You called me Evie Baby, if that helps." I rolled my eyes at his cheesey nickname.

He started laughing, "Oh yeah, that helps a lot!"

I heard Frankie growl and then the doorbell rang.

Jesse cocked an eyebrow at me, "Expecting someone?"

I nodded, "Hide behind the counter!" I said and ran to the door.

Once I opened it I saw Cas standing there, tapping her foot.

"Dang! How can you afford this huge place?" She asked.

"Gee, thanks Cas." I told her and I gave her a big hug.

I let her in and I locked the door behind her.

"Okay, don't freak out cause you missed a lot on your trip away, alright?" I told her.

Cas and I met on instagram and she quickly became my best friend/sister. We both were Marooners and BSers. It was impossible not to love this girl. But since she had taken a job opportunity that took her away to Australia for six months, I hadn't been able to talk to her since she didn't have a phone that worked out there. So she has no idea what she's walking into.
