The lie

Jake's POV
J: um...

What should I say. She is hella annoying.

J: I'm sorry but I have a girlfriend and I don't know what she would think if she found out I was hanging out with you.
S: Oh, I don't believe you. First day your here and you already have a girlfriend. Such a liar.

She gets up and finds another seat to sit at.

Ugh what have I gotten my self into. I just lied to her and now she is going to tell the whole school. What about Erika? What is she going to think. I know she likes me. I can tell but now she will hate me.

*next day*
As I arrive at school everyone is looking at me. Gossip must spread around this school like a wild fire.

When I get to my locker there are a bunch of note on it saying thinks like, you suck, go kill yourself and some other things I don't want to talk about.

As I walk into all my classes as eyes are on me. I hate the attention. I just wish they would all disappear.

At lunch I sit at a table and all the kids already sitting there get up and leave. I guess I'm sitting by myself today.

I look across the lunch room, and I see Erika looking at me. When she sees me looking at her I look away and start eating my lunch.

Erika's POV
When I get to school all the gossip is about how jake lied to sammy about having a girlfriend. When I walk past his locker I see a bunch of notes saying really mean things. I honestly feel bad for him. All he wanted to do was avoid Sammy and he got all this negative attention.

At lunch I see jake sitting by himself. When I see him looking at me I look away and start talking to my squad. I start thinking, maybe I should go over there and sit next to him. I stand up and the whole squad asks me when I'm going. I walk over to jake and sit down. After a couple of minutes he starts talking.

J: you don't have to do this you know.
E: do what?
J: sit next to me
E: I️ know but I want to be friends with you. You seem like a really good guy.
J: thanks but you don't have to be friends with me I'm just the unpopular kid who lied and your the most popular kid in the school.
E: don't say that, just because I'm the most popular kid doesn't mean I can't be friends with you
J: thanks
E: so do you want to hang out later? 
J: sure, what about my house I️ will text you when to come and I will text you my address right now.
E: are you sure you aren't forgetting something
J: no I don't think so
E: maybe that you don't have my phone number
J: oh ya might need that

Just then the bell rings.

E: I guess I'll see you later
J: thanks for sitting with me Erika it really means a lot.
E: no problem
J: bye
E: bye
